Three patients with glaucoma drainage devices and one patient who had trabeculectomy with mitomycin C were treated with a combination of topical timolol 0.5% and dorzolamide hydrochloride in the late postoperative period to decrease the intraocular pressure to the target level. All four patients developed ciliochoroidal effusions with hypotony that resolved with the discontinuation of the topical medication. PURPOSE: To report an adverse side effect associated with topical latanoprost usage.
METHOD: Case report. A 76-year-old woman with primary open-angle glaucoma developed an iris cyst 5 weeks after beginning treatment with latanoprost. Clinical examinations and slit-lamp photographs were performed.
RESULTS: Latanoprost was discontinued. Periodic examinations disclosed that the iris cyst gradually diminished and finally disappeared within 3 weeks.
CONCLUSION: The formation of an iris cyst is a possible complication of topical latanoprost therapy.

We treated 12 eyes with Pseudomonas ulcerative keratitis with topical 0.3% Norfloxacin drops (Ranbaxy Laboratories). Excellent response was achieved in all eyes, resulting in complete ulcer resolution. The healing time varied from 12 to 20 days. There was a marked improvement over the pretreatment visual acuity in 11 of the 12 eyes. No systemic or ocular side effects were observed during the study period. The present study strongly suggests that topical norfloxacin is a potent and effective drug in the treatment of Pseudomonas ulcerative keratitis.

OBJECTIVE: Although topical antibiotics have been used as antimicrobial prophylaxis after ocular surgery, recent studies have determined that intracameral cefuroxime at the end of surgery significantly reduce the risk to suffer an infection and suggest that the use of topical antibiotics in the prophylaxis of infectious postoperative endophthalmitis (IPOE) is controversial. Moreover, there is no evidence to confirm the higher effectiveness of topical ciprofloxacin, considered the standard of care, or topical azithromycin in preventing IPOE of cataract surgeries.

Often, people are able to recall a message on a particular topic for a long period of time. These memorable messages have the ability to influence behavior when they are recalled from memory long after initial exposure. Knowing the topics and sources of the messages that are remembered about breast cancer can improve the efficacy of future breast cancer outreach.
