PURPOSE: To present two patients with residual astigmatism following toric intraocular lens (IOL) implantation.
METHODS: Case reports.
RESULTS: A 58-year-old woman underwent toric IOL implantation (spherical power 29.50 diopters [D], cylinder power 3.00 D; SN60T5, Alcon Laboratories Inc) to correct 2.33 D @ 80° of corneal astigmatism. Postoperatively, uncorrected distance visual acuity (UDVA) was 20/30 and corrected distance visual acuity (CDVA) was 20/22 (0 -1.75 × 95), indicating an overcorrection of astigmatism. A 14-year-old male presented with decreased vision. Slit lamp examination indicated multiple anterior corneal stromal opacities with clear intervening spaces accompanied with superficial subepithelial lines arranged in a quasi-whorl-like fashion bilateral with greater prominence in the right eye. Corneal steepening associated with thinning was noted only in the right eye. Genetic analysis confirmed a mutation suggestive of granular corneal dystrophy. A 44-year-old woman with recurrent attacks of bilateral adenoviral keratoconjunctivitis infections presented with excessive tearing of 5 months' duration. Slit-lamp examination showed bilateral punctal stenosis. Tearing improved for 2 months after insertion of perforated silicone punctal plugs, after which she had a bilateral foreign-body sensation due to pyogenic granuloma pushing through the lumen of the silicone plugs. The foreign-body sensation improved after removing the plugs and a short course of topical steroid-antibiotic eye drops.

A ten-year-old male child was referred with complaints of blurring of vision and deviation of the eye. On examination, the right eye has an esodeviation squint with a best corrected visual acuity of 6/60 Snellen's acuity and 6/6 Snellen's acuity in the left eye. Slit-lamp biomicroscope of the right eye showed coloboma at the 9 o'clock position with cataract. The rest of the anterior and posterior segments was normal in both eyes. Thus, a diagnosis of unilateral lens coloboma with amblyopia was made.

BACKGROUND: The presence of a prominent, retrolental line is shown biomicroscopically.
METHODS: A 25-year-old patient with a prominent circular retrolental line is reported. Slit-lamp stereophotographs of the lens were obtained.
RESULTS: A prominent, circular, retrolental line was observed in a female patient - who showed no evidence of ocular disease other than myopia of -5.0 D - and was photographically documented.
CONCLUSION: The prominent retrolental line observed in the patient could correspond to the inner border of the hyalo-capsular ligament of Wieger.

PURPOSE: We studied a case of congenital optic disk pit and coloboma with associated malformations of the retinal vessels.
METHODS: Slit-lamp biomicroscopy and fluorescein angiography were performed.
RESULTS: Multiple retinal venous anastomoses associated with a congenital coloboma and pit of the optic disk were observed. The retinal vascular anomalies extended from the optic disk to the temporal periphery.
CONCLUSIONS: We consider the coexistence of retinal venous anastomoses with optic disk coloboma and pit to be an extremely rare congenital retinal anomaly.

We report a rare association of unilateral keratoconus (KC) and iridocorneal endothelial syndrome in a 34-year-old female. Slit-lamp examination showed advanced KC with faint apical scarring in her right eye. The pupil was superiorly displaced with superior peripheral anterior synechia. Specular microscopy showed abnormal endothelium with low endothelial cell count in the right eye. Corneal topography confirmed the unilateral KC diagnosis. As the patient did not tolerate hard contact lens, penetrating keratoplasty with pupilloplasty was performed with excellent outcome.

Ocular involvement with Gnathostoma spinigerum occurs years after the initial infection that is acquired by ingestion of poorly cooked, pickled seafood or water contaminated with third stage larvae. Here we report a case of gnathostomiasis of the left eye of a 32-year-old lady hailing from Meghalaya, India. Her vision had deteriorated to hand movement. Slit lamp examination revealed a live, actively motile worm in the anterior chamber, which was extracted by supra temporal limbal incision and visual acuity was restored.
