Three-dimensional bioprinting is one of the latest and fastest growing technologies in the medical field. It has been implemented to print part of the transplantable tissues and organs, such as skin, ear, and bone. This paper introduces the application status, challenges, and application prospect of three-dimensional bioprinting in burn and plastic surgery field.

Evidence-based medicine (EBM) encompasses the evaluation and application of best available evidence, incorporation of clinical experience, and emphasis on patient preference and values. Different scales are used to rate levels of evidence. Residency positions in the Veterans Affairs Medical System are usually part of a rotational educational system within a university-based residency, and plastic surgeons in training are a major work force and health care provider. The creation of an esthetic dental restoration with gingival harmony can provide a reconstructive challenge. Isolated or combined soft tissue defects of the lower leg are still a challenge as regard diagnostic and differential treatment. We distinguish acute and chronic isolated or combined soft tissue defect. Acute trauma within a multiple injury pattern is a special form of the acute soft tissue defect. For diagnostic purposes we use a preoperative and intraoperative standardized diagnostic programme. A new classification oriented towards the therapeutic procedure is presented, as is therapy algorithm which has been created.

Complex malformations of the skeleton of the cranium and face are mostly first discovered by the obstetrician. Almost all anomalies can be corrected already at infant age by means of update craniofacial surgery, provided they are diagnosed well in time and treatment is initiated directly. Surgery should be performed by a team that is well-versed in craniofacial surgery. A few examples are given to illustrate the most important malformations. Pointers to the best possible time of operation, indication and method are supplied.

Thirty-four patients with 57 cutaneous lesions have been treated with the Nd:YAG laser under an experimental protocol over a year of study. The majority of treatments were done on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia. Capillary/cavernous hemangiomas of the oral cavity responded well, but hemangiomas of infancy responded poorly.
