OBJECTIVE: To investigate the practices of doctors in the diagnosis and treatment of adult SAPHO syndrome.
METHODS: A cross-sectional study was conducted by distributing online questionnaires to physicians across five hospitals, specifically targeting departments involved in the diagnosis and treatment of adult SAPHO syndrome, including rheumatology, dermatology, and orthopedics.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of enamel matrix derivative (EMD) in preventing and treating medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaws (MRONJ). The study included 60 rats divided into five equal-sized groups. The preventive effect of EMD was evaluated in groups 1 (healthy control), 2 (bisphosphonate control), and 3 (bisphosphonate + EMD), and treatment efficacy was examined in groups 4 (osteonecrosis control) and 5 (osteonecrosis + EMD). Intraperitoneal zoledronic acid was administered to induce MRONJ, and the left mandibular molar teeth were extracted in all groups.

Bisphosphonates (BPs) are analogues of pyrophosphate that are known to prevent bone resorption by inhibiting osteoclast activity. This report presents a new use for rehabilitation protocol for oral sinus communications in patients with antiresorptive agent-induced osteonecrosis of the jaw. The treatment plan consisted of constructing an atraumatic complete denture with rounded edges, made with nontoxic resin, to prevent any injury to the mucosa and recurrence of the disease. The patient was followed up for 4 years, without any complications, and was socially reintegrated by resuming the normal life he experienced before tooth loss.

OBJECTIVE: Atypical femoral fractures and osteoporosis of the jaw have been associated with prolonged bisphosphonate therapy for postmenopausal osteoporosis. American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists guidelines suggest a drug holiday after 4 to 5 years of bisphosphonate treatment for moderate-risk patients and 10 years for high-risk patients, but there are minimal data on safe holiday durations. A recent U. S. Food and Drug Administration perspective suggests a treatment duration of 3 to 5 years. Our aim was to describe a group of patients on drug holiday and identify fracture risk.
