The objective of this study is to document the value of Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology (FNAC) in the diagnosis of subcutaneous cysticercosis. Aspirates smears of 10 cases of subcutaneous swellings were studied over a period of 1 year between January 2004 and January 2005. Primary vaginal malignant melanoma is a very rare tumor with less than 300 cases reported to date. We describe a case of primary vaginal melanoma and review the literature. Fibrinogen is an independent risk factor for coronary events in population-based studies and inpatients with coronary heart disease, but there is an uncertainty about its prediction for stroke, particularly in secondary prevention. Anaphylactic reactions to anesthetic drugs, though rare, may be encountered by anyone involved. The clinical manifestation of the anaphylactic reactions, which may be different from patient to patient, is caused by the histamine released either from the mast cells or basophils or both. Laboratory investigations can determine the source of histamine release. Here, I present a case of anaphylactic reaction to sodium thiopental. The main stay of the treatment is oxygenation, fluids and epinephrine, which was applied in this case also, with successful outcome of the patient.

Radiation therapy is often used in an attempt to palliate or cure oesophageal neoplasms. However, the radiation tolerance of the normal structures around the oesophagus (heart, lung and spinal cord) restricts the radiation dose that can be delivered. We used a nasogastric catheter to deliver High Dose Intra-luminal Iridium-192 irradiation for carcinoma of the oesophagus using HDR-Varisource machine. A 16-year old girl presented with a history of abdominal pain, lump in epigastrium since one year. The ultrasound examination showed an epigastric mass, which was delineated as a filling defect in the stomach on barium studies. Upper GI endoscopy showed a large intragastric mass composed of hair. This was a prospective study, conducted to analyze the intraoperative complications, postoperative morbidities and complications between abdominal and vaginal hysterectomy. This study was carried out on 100 patients (50 cases abdominal and 50 cases vaginal hysterectomy), in Services Hospital, Lahore in the year 2002 from April to December. The purpose of this study was to assess the effectiveness of chemical lumbar sympathectomy in relieving pain and healing ischaemic ulcers in patients with peripheral vascular diseases. The last two decades have seen rapid improvements in understanding the complex mechanisms underlying the genesis of cryptorchidism. Yet, despite years of study, answers to questions relating to controversies surrounding undescended testes remain elusive. This article presents an overview of the controversies and current understanding of this challenging problem.

We performed a clinical-radiological audit of 142 children with consecutive upracondylar fractures of the humerus over a period of 5 years (1996-2001). The fractures were classified according to the Gartland system; 58 types I, 44 type II and 40 type III. And 87.0% were extension and 13.0% flexion types. These cases were managed by closed reduction and posterior cast application (n= 120) and open reduction with internal fixation (n=22). Glaucoma is one of the leading causes of blindness worldwide. Primary angle closure glaucoma (PACG) is a leading cause ofblindness in East Asian people and known to cause bilateral blindness more frequently than other glaucoma. This retrospective study was done at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital between April 1999 to April 2003, to asses the maternal and perinatal outcome of acute hepatitis E in pregnancy. During this period a total of 19 patients presented with jaundice. Out of 19 cases, 16 suffered from acute hepatitis due to hepatitis E.
