The case of tremendous salpinx hematoma coexisting with a residual uterus horn has been described. A menstrual blood from the little cavity of residual horn filled progressively the salpinx, which had abdominal ostium closed. A congenital malformation, in consequence of Muller tubes defective development, has been a direct cause of the disease. The ethology of the malformation has not been found. Primary diagnosis suggested an ovarian cyst or a malignant tumour. Neither physical examination nor USG made the diagnosis easier. The case has showed, how difficult the recognition of pelvic tumours

Better appreciation of the female reproductive anatomy of the common marmoset (Callithrix jacchus) should improve the prospects for nonsurgical embryo transfer in this model. Vaginal measurements were performed in 8 female adult marmoset monkeys. Four monkeys were measured at laparotomy for gross internal anatomy, and 1 monkey was analysed at autopsy. The vagina of the marmoset monkey was found to be divided into a lower and upper vagina with a marked vaginal isthmus between them. Between January 1984 and August 1991, 511 cases of extrauterine pregnancies were diagnosed by laparoscopy in our department. In 374 cases salpingectomy was performed: 184 by explorative laparotomy, and 190 by operative laparoscopy. Uterus, uterine tubes, and ovaries of a cow were obtained from the local abattoir. Post-mortem findings indicate a subacute to chronic endometritis, caused by a cigarette-lighter found in utero. The uterine mucosa, covered with mucopurulent secretions, was focally stained black by sulfhemoglobin. Regressed corpora lutea of different sizes and the absence of macroscopically visible tertiary follicles indicate irregularities of the estrous cycle.

Tuboovarian abscesses are rarely found in cervical cancer cases. In each of the three cases presented below, the diagnosis of adnexal disease was established at exploratory laparotomy. In one patient following surgery the cancer was downstaged from IIIb to IB. Another patient had undergone external radiotherapy with considerable morbidity prior to surgery. The authors performed percutaneous drainage of 27 tubo-ovarian abscesses (TOAs) in 16 patients in whom medical therapy with triple antibiotics prior to catheter drainage had not been successful. Percutaneous drainage was successful in 15 of 16 patients (94%). One patient underwent total abdominal hysterectomy and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy 3 days after catheter placement because of persistent symptoms and lack of drainage from the catheter; at laparotomy, a large infected phlegmon was found. Laparoscopy was employed to treat extrauterine pregnancy in 16 patients aged 19 to 38 years. An operation was the continuum of diagnostic laparoscopy in 3 patients, but it was emergency in 13 after the diagnosis was established by other methods. Tubectomy was performed in 15 patients, conservative removal of the fetal ovum from the tubal lumen was made in 1 patient. No complications were observed. The operation duration was 12 to 20 minutes. The postoperative period ran significantly easier than that after tubectomies conducted by laparotomy.

A case of salpingo-vesical fistula is presented which occurred in a forty-six-year-old female two years after a vaginal hysterectomy. The patient's presenting complaints included pelvic and right lumbosacral discomfort, aggravated by urination. Cystoscopy revealed the fistula, and the patient was successfully treated with a salpingo-oophorectomy.

Seventy-nine ampullary tubal ectopic pregnancies were managed using laparoscopic linear salpingostomy. An incision was made on the antimesenteric side of the fallopian tube, over the point of maximum bulge, with unipolar electrocautery, the argon laser, or CO2 laser.
