We tried to classify 46 minor malformations in 5 groups: 0: Normal ossicular chain, almost normal tympanic membrane but small atretic plate around malleus handle. I: Fixation of the malleus head. II: Normal ossicular chain but fixation of the footplate with or without abnormality of the facial nerve. III: Lack of a part of the ossicular chain with or without abnormality of the stapes. A total of 351 patients with thoracic esophageal carcinoma were prospectively classified according to the new (1987) TNM classification. Sixty-two patients received chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy without surgery. Esophagectomy was performed on 291 patients, among whom 139 underwent cervical, mediastinal and abdominal lymph adenectomy (3-field dissection). This article describes some of the historical approaches to classifying supraventricular tachycardias and the evolution of the nomenclature as the knowledge of tachycardias improved. We reviewed the clinical histories and 12-lead surface electro-cardiograms (ECG) of 21 children with atrial tachycardia. Atrial rate and P-wave axis were determined for each patient. The data of 750 consecutive uveitis patients who visited the uveitis department of the Rotterdam Eye Hospital were analysed by computer. Anterior uveitis was diagnosed most frequently (52%), mostly the acute form. We found a high percentage of Fuchs' heterochromic iridocyclitis and HLA-B27+ iridocyclitis. 272 primary epithelial gland tumors were classified pathologically. These tumors were sampled from 70% of 390 lacrimal fossa lesions out of 1530 orbital tumors from one hospital. Forty-eight patients with acute acromioclavicular dislocation were assessed clinically and radiologically before random allocation to non-operative management (28) or open reduction and coracoclavicular screw fixation (20) and followed for a minimum of 4 years. In 6 patients, late salvage surgery was required, the results of which were inferior to early operative intervention.
