BACKGROUND: Amebic colitis, an intestinal infection caused by the parasite Entamoeba histolytica, is increasingly common in nonendemic regions, particularly among young men and men who have sex with men.
PURPOSE: This study aims to analyze the clinical manifestations, endoscopic features, pathological characteristics, and treatment outcomes of amebic colitis in male patients diagnosed at a tertiary hospital in Beijing.

INTRODUCTION: Amyand's hernia is a rare finding accounting for less than 1 % of inguinal hernias. The appendix with its pathology within the hernia sac may become isolated from the gastrointestinal tract, which can cause further confusion in clinical diagnosis. INTRODUCTION: Minimally invasive pancreaticoduodenectomy is a technically complex technique, that is being used to treat periampullary malignancy. We provide our experience with laparoscopic-assisted pancreaticoduodenectomy (LAPD) with statistics on the outcomes of periampullary cancer patients.
