The cytogenetical findings in one conjunctival and eight uveal melanomas are reported. Six of the intraocular tumors displayed clonal abnormalities. In two of these cases there were both extensive numerical and structural aberrations. Only the single ciliary body melanoma showed the deviations monosomy 3 and gain of 8q considered typical of uveal melanomas. No preferential pattern could be discerned for the clonal abnormalities in the other uveal melanomas. In order to construct standardized charts for root resorption in the primary dentition of Japanese children, we investigated the stages of resorption (1/4, 1/2 and 3/4 of the root) based on the criterion of Fanning, et al. using 11,167 panoramic radiographs (5,759 of boys and 5,408 of girls). The following information was obtained. 1) The root resorption for a tooth on one side was the same as for its counterpart on the other side regardless of differences in sex or arch. 2) The average age for each root resorption stage was lower in girls than in boys regardless of differences in sex or arch.

Endoluminal sonography of the urinary tract was performed by using endoluminal ultrasound transducers contained within 2-mm-diameter cathete … sonographic results were confirmed by direct ureteroscopic examinations and follow-up studies. Our observations based on this limited study suggest that endoluminal sonography is a useful procedure for diagnosing diseases of the urinary tract. Further study is warranted.
