Alveolar capillary dysplasia with misalignment of pulmonary veins (ACDMPV) is an interstitial lung disease. In ACDMPV, respiratory impairment with severe pulmonary hypertension occurs from the early hours of life. Anomalies in the cardiovascular, gastrointestinal and genitourinary systems have been reported. However, little is known about upper airway abnormalities. INTRODUCTION: The aim of the study was to identify retinal microvascular changes using optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) in type 2 diabetes (T2D) patients with preclinical retinopathy identified by ultra-widefield fundus photography (UWF-FP).
METHODS: This is a cross-sectional observational study. All patients underwent UWF-FP 200° examinations with OPTOS California (Optos, Dunfermline, UK) and Cirrus AngioPlex® spectral-domain (SD)-OCTA 3 × 3 mm acquisitions (ZEISS, Dublin, CA, USA). In this short communication, we report the use of a second-generation macrolide antibiotic, gamithromycin (Gam), as a novel chiral selector for enantioseparation in capillary electrophoresis (CE). A series is presented of sixteen cases of retinal capillary haemangioma (RCH) from consecutive patients at an ophthalmology teaching hospital in Mexico City. There were seven primary haemangioblastomas, and nine due to von Hippel-Lindau disease (VHL). All cases associated with VHL already had systemic manifestations, such as, cerebellar, medullary and renal tumours. Treatment of capillary haemangiomas must be individualised, based on several factors, including the number of lesions, exudation, or presence of retinal detachment. A multidisciplinary approach is essential.

INTRODUCTION: Lobular capillary hemangioma (LCH) is caused by exuberant neovascular response to infection, local irritation (e.g., trauma), or hormonal influence (e.g., pregnancy and consumption of oral contraceptive pills).
