BACKGROUND: Lung cancer is a malignant tumor with the highest mortality worldwide. Abnormalities in the ubiquitin proteasome system are considered to be contributed to lung cancer progression with deleterious effects. DDB1 and CUL4 associated factor 13 (DCAF13) is a substrate receptor of the E3 ubiquitin ligase CRL4, but its role in lung cancer remains unknown. Fibrinogen glue of human origin was used in 44 patients. Indications are of two types: as a glue mainly for dermoepidermoid grafts but also to assist mucosal suturing and bone obturation, and for hemostasis after extractions in patients with coagulation disorders (hemophilia, cirrhosis, leukemia). Positive results were obtained, particularly in hemophilic patients, the incidence and severity of secondary hemorrhage appearing to diminish.

Thirty-five traumatic lesions to cartilage were recorded, together with other injuries, from 225 arthroscopic examinations in two years. Most of the lesions (20) were located at the femoral condyle. A microsurgical technique using human fibrinogen concentrate for the closure of anterior lens capsule wounds and through-and-through perforations was developed, experimentally tested and clinically applied. I consider here the first consecutive 31 patients treated. All these patients had perforating injuries of the lens and still localized lens damage; they showed no spontaneous healing tendencies.
