The Polynemidae is a family of primarily marine fishes with eight genera and 42 extant species. Many aspects of their morphology are largely unknown, with few reports about their osteology and barely any information on their myology. This paper describes and illustrates in detail all facial and branchial muscles of representative species of polynemids. OBJECTIVE: To examine differences between single and married mothers in the 12-month prevalence of psychiatric disorders.
METHODS: The analysis uses data from the National Comorbidity Survey, collected in 1992-1993, and focuses on women aged 15 to 55 years with children (n=1346). The retrospective assessment of adverse childhood experiences is a widely used technique. Few studies report heterogeneous results about the reliability and objectivity. A genetic follow-up study has been performed of 64 infants who were diagnosed as having Pierre Robin complex over a 23-year period in South Australia. Patients and their families were contacted, family history was obtained, and physical examinations were performed with an aim to detect heterogeneity and establish recurrence risks. PURPOSE: Intimate partner violence (IPV) is a serious public health concern that is highly prevalent among couples with alcohol misuse. It is well-established that alcohol can exacerbate negative IPV outcomes; however, less is known about how hazardous alcohol consumption, combined with family composition, such as the presence of children in the home, may impact IPV in a dyadic context. The current study examined the separate and interactive roles of the couple's caretaking status and alcohol use disorder (AUD) severity on psychological and physical IPV victimization.

Homicide-suicide is a form of fatal violence in which an individual commits homicide and subsequently kills him- or herself. One hundred and sixteen homicide-suicide events involving 119 female homicide victims in North Carolina from 1988-1992 were identified through state medical examiner files. Case files were reviewed retrospectively to identify event characteristics, precursors, and typologies. In 86% of cases the perpetrator was the current or former partner of the victim. The Capital District Asylum Collaborative (CDAC) is an organization that provides psychiatric and medical evaluations to be used as forensic evidence to support asylum applications. Our study assesses the demographics and traumas experienced by CDAC clients. In this retrospective study, 23 completed affidavits for clients evaluated through CDAC between the years 2016 and 2020 were analyzed for demographics, trauma experience, and psychiatric diagnosis given. This study examined the timing and risk factors for subsequent union disruption among individuals who were in a marital or cohabiting union at age 45, focusing particularly on the role of prior union history and children.
