We report a case of onychomycosis caused by Scytalidium dimidiatum (syn., Hendersonula toruloidea) in a patient who did not live in an endemic area. This nondermatophyte mold may produce disease indistinguishable from dermatophyte fungi, but it does not respond to current systemic antimycotic therapy. Distal subungual onychomycosis, lateral onycholysis followed by lateral nail plate invasion, and chronic paronychia are common nail presentations.

Hidrotic ectodermaldysplasia was found, to our knowledge, for the first time in a Chinese family in Malaysia, and it affected 15 members in five generations. A report on two cases is given. The patients showed the typical skin affections after trips to Africa. Tungiasis occasionally leads to secondary infections and may be the cause of longterm inflammation or erysipelas. The occurrence of three causative organisms of the so called intertriginous dermatophytoses--Epidermophyton floccosum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes var. interdigitale and T. rubrum--was compared according to the localization of the lesions.
