Knowledge, attitudes and practices on rift valley fever among pastoral and agropastoral communities of Ngorongoro in the rift valley ecosystem, Tanzania, conducted in 2021/2022.

Epidemics of Rift Valley fever (RVF), a mosquito-borne zoonotic disease caused by RVF virus, have been linked to exceptionally heavy rainfall and widespread flooding. The disease is endemic in most African countries and pose a major global health risk. Given that the disease was reported in various districts of Tanzania, we hypothesized a lack of knowledge about RVF epidemiology among agropastoral and pastoral communities. The research took place in a period of 7 months, from July, 2021 to January, 2022. The aim of this study was to assess the knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP) among th

Current knowledge and use of pharmacogenomics among NPs: An integrative review.

BACKGROUND: Pharmacogenomics, a critical component of precision medicine, is rapidly transforming health care by tailoring drug therapy based on individual genetic profiles. Nurse practitioners (NPs), as frontline providers and prescribers, play a key role in implementing pharmacogenomics into clinical practice. Despite its growing importance, limited research has examined NPs' current knowledge about and use of pharmacogenomics in clinical practice. METHODS: An integrative review was conducted using Whittemore and Knafl's methodology. Literature searches were performed across six databases u

What Parents, Teachers and Clinicians Know About the Features of Developmental Dyslexia and Its Intervention: A Scoping Review.

Despite decades of research, misconceptions about developmental dyslexia remain widespread among those responsible for identifying and supporting affected children. Identifying the nature and persistence of these beliefs is essential to improving practice and policy. We conducted a scoping review to map the understanding of developmental dyslexia among teachers, parents and clinicians by identifying their beliefs about its features and interventions. The review included 95 studies on dyslexia features and 56 studies on dyslexia intervention. Thematic analyses identified several accurate belief

What Influences Women's Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practices Toward Preconception Care? A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.

BACKGROUND: Maternal and neonatal mortality remain significant global challenges, with 287,000 pregnancy-related deaths in 2020 and a neonatal mortality rate of 17 per 1,000 live births in 2019. Preconception care (PCC) can mitigate these outcomes, yet low uptake persists. Unintended pregnancies and risky preconception behaviors (e.g., smoking, poor folic acid intake) exacerbate health disparities, underscoring the need to understand determinants of PCC knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP). METHODS: This systematic review and meta-analysis examined the determinants of KAP regarding PCC a

Knowledge, Attitudes, Beliefs, and Practices Regarding Dengue in La Réunion Island, France.

Since 2017, La Réunion island has been facing a major epidemic of dengue. Despite actions carried out by the anti-vector control department, public authorities have failed to contain this epidemic. As individual involvement is key to success in vector control, we carried out a mixed-methods study on population knowledge, attitudes, beliefs, and practices (KABP) regarding dengue infection risk in La Réunion. The study combined quantitative data collected through a questionnaire administered to a representative sample of 622 people to assess the use of protective measures and the perception of s

Men's perception and understanding of male-factor infertility in the UK.

Male-factor infertility is a common but stigmatised issue, and men often do not receive the emotional support and the information they need. This study sought to understand awareness of male fertility issues compared to female fertility among the UK general male public, and also what were perceived as being the optimum methods for providing support for affected men, emotionally and through information. Men feel that male infertility is not discussed by the public as much as female infertility. Lifestyle issues that affect male fertility are not well understood, and men affected by infertility
