Hepatic angiosarcoma is an uncommon primary malignancy of the liver. It carries a poor prognosis because of very aggressive nature of the tumor. Clinical presentation of hepatic angiosarcoma is variable, most common being hepatomegaly or abdominal mass. Here we report a case of primary hepatic angiosarcoma presented with spontaneous rupture and hemoperitoneum, which was managed successfully by transarterial embolization.

We report the case of a 65-Year-old man with advanced hepatocellular carcinoma related to alcoholic cirrhosis who was hospitalised for oliguric renal failure. Investigations showed a severe nephrotic syndrome related to paraneoplastic membranous glomerulonephritis. The patient's course was temporarily stabilized with loop diuretics and dialysis but the patient died of hemoperitoneum from a ruptured tumor.

Primary splenic pregnancy is the least common form of extrauterine pregnancy. We report a case of splenic pregnancy occurring in a 29-year-old woman presenting with acute abdomen and hemoperitoneum. Recognition of this rare form of gestation is of critical importance, owing to the risk of exsanguination and death, and should be considered in the differential diagnosis of acute abdomen in women of reproductive age.

Periumbilical ecchymosis, Cullen's sign, is most often considered a sign of hemorrhagic pancreatitis. We present a case of splenic rupture secondary to infectious mononucleosis in a middle-aged patient whose presenting complaint was the presence of Cullen's sign, secondary to the hemoperitoneum. Spontaneous hemoperitoneum in pregnancy (SHiP), an unprovoked, non-traumatic intraperitoneal bleed in pregnancy and up to 42 days postpartum, is a rare but potentially life-threatening clinical condition. This study reports a case of spontaneous subcapsular splenic ruptured hematoma (with hemoperitoneum) and provides update on this rare disease. Non-traumatic ruptures can be fatal. Diagnosis is sometimes difficult. They often reveal an underlying pathology including infections, tumors or hematologic disorders. Symptomatology commonly has an abrupt onset but progressive forms are also possible. The majority of patients undergo splenectomy.

A case of spontaneous rupture of the urachal leiomyosarcoma in a 12-year-old boy is presented. This is of interest because massive hemoperitoneum due to spontaneous rupture of the urachal leiomyosarcoma is remarkably rare. We diagnosed based on histopathological features. Partial cystectomy and adjuvant chemo-radiation therapy was done with no sign of local recurrence or metastasis until 6 months after the operation.

A 65-year-old man developed massive hemoperitoneum secondary to spontaneous splenic rupture. Histopathological analysis of the spleen demonstrated necrotizing granulomas. Results of serological tests indicated infection with a species of Bartonella, and immunohistochemical staining established Bartonella henselae as the cause of splenitis. To our knowledge, this represents the first reported case of spontaneous splenic rupture caused by infection with a species of Bartonella.

Epidemiologic, clinical and management information was collected from the case histories of 103 women operated on for an extrauterine pregnancy at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology of the Central Hospital in Maputo (Mozambique) from April 1st, 1987 to March 31st, 1988. We observed a decline in extrauterine pregnancies (9.76%), an association of pelvic schistosomiasis (3.9%), and a high percentage of women with ruptured tubes and subsequent hemoperitoneum (75.7%).
