Intravascular lymphoma is a rare malignancy which is characterized by a proliferation of atypical appearing B cells, generally confined to vascular lumina. A tissue biopsy demonstrating the pathology is required to make a diagnosis. The tumor is often disseminated at the time of diagnosis and prognosis is poor, even with aggressive chemotherapy. Splenic marginal zone lymphoma (SMZL) is an indolent small B-cell lymphoma involving the spleen and bone marrow characterized by a micronodular tumoral infiltration that replaces the preexisting lymphoid follicles and shows marginal zone differentiation as a distinctive finding. The inflammatory myopathies comprise a group of immune-mediated muscle diseases. Lymphoma is a term for a variety of lymphatic system malignancies. Patients are admitted based on a tentative diagnosis. If that is incorrect it may have negative consequences for the patient and the system. In this case we present an eight-month elucidation with several diagnostic procedures with a tentative diagnosis of osteomyelitis. This diagnosis was kept despite contradicting diagnostic results. Finally, the patient was diagnosed with peripheral T-cell lymphoma. Many cognitive diagnostic pitfalls are known to delay diagnosis. We recommend having them in mind and seeking quick interdisciplinary help when treatment is not successful.

Angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma (AITL) is a subtype of nodal peripheral T-cell lymphoma associated with aggressive clinical course that affects mostly the elderly. Treatment of gastric marginal zone B cell lymphoma of MALT (mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue) is nowadays standardized as outlined in the German S3 guideline of 2009 and the European (EGILS) consensus report of 2011. Anemia is a frequent finding of Hodgkin's lymphoma (HL) diagnosis. It is usually mild, with hemoglobin levels between 10 and 12 g/dl; it is rarely (<10% of cases) a result of bone marrow infiltration; and it displays the characteristics of the anemia of chronic disease due to abnormalities in iron metabolism. Splenic marginal zone lymphoma (SMZL) with or without villous lymphocytes is a low-grade malignant lymphoma, which primarily involves the spleen, the bone marrow and the blood. Even though the prognosis of the disease is good and there is a long overall survival, about two thirds of the patients will require treatment and in 10% of the patients the lymphoma will transform into a high-grade malignant lymphoma. The treatment of SMZL remains empirical, since there is lack of large, prospective studies. Without such studies, the best treatment modality cannot be established.

OBJECTIVES: To evaluate the implication of Hodgkin's lymphoma (HL) in Otorhinolaryngology.
PATIENTS AND METHODS: A longitudinal retrospective study on patients with HL diagnosed, treated and followed-up in our Centre from 1996 to 2010.
RESULTS: From 413 individuals having lymphoma, 120 were labelled as HL (29%).
