Transrectal linear ultrasonography was performed on 59 male patients with dysuria, and voiding movement of the posterior urethra was observed with a videomonitor. We report here a sudden and marked increase in the occurrence, in a captive population, of typhoid fever cases showing multiple drug resistance. Fifty one cases of typhoid fever were seen from January '90 to June '90 of which 49% showed multiple drug resistance. Comparative figures for resistance in the previous three years were 0% (1987), 5% (1988), 14% (1989). Fifteen cases of alveolar hydatid disease were treated with albendazole in the dosage of 20 mg/kg/d x 30 days for 12-60 courses. All cases were followed up 1-5 years (average 38 months) by ultrasonic scanning of liver and chest X-ray films. One patient whose hepatic lesion was converted into fibro-calcific after treatment was apparently cured. Six hundred and seventy-four cases of facial bone fracture in the past 10 years were studied with respect to age and sex, region, cause, classification, and treatment at our clinic. From January 1981 to December 1988, we collected 11 cases of neonatal meningitis caused by Flavobacterium meningosepticum. The 6 male and 5 female newborns ranged from 3 days to 20 days old. Birth body weight varied from 1100 gm to 3600 gm. Seven cases were premature or small for date. Nosocomial infection was noted in 7 of these 11 cases. A new case of Wells' syndrome is reported. Histologically the infiltrate of eosinophils extended to the deep dermis and the subcutaneous fat. The characteristic flame figures are seen in the dermis. Ultrastructurally eosinophils were numerous half of then degranulated. No injury to the vessel walls and collagen bundles were observed. The Authors emphasized that Wells' syndrome is a distinctive entity clinical, on likely autoimmune basis, with multiple triggering factors and peculiar histopathologic but not diagnostic picture.

Electron microscopic studies of biopsy specimens from a patient with lymphomatoid papulosis were performed. In the epidermis, infiltrating lymphoid cells, many of which had highly convoluted nuclei, were revealed to come into close contact to increased Langerhans' cells but did not accumulate to form microabscesses.
