A feasibility study of the Redesigning Daily Occupations (ReDOTM-10) programme in an Irish context.

BACKGROUND: Despite high demand, mental health services in primary care in Ireland are underdeveloped. People with mild/moderate anxiety, depression and unspecified psychological distress are frequently seen in primary care settings, mostly by general practitioners (GPs). Occupational therapists have the potential to contribute to service-provision with interventions specially designed for the targeted group e.g. the Redesigning Daily Occupations programme (ReDO-10). AIMS/OBJECTIVES: This study aimed to explore the feasibility of a future RCT of the ReDO-10 programme in Ireland and the contex

Engagement, satisfaction, retention and behavioural outcomes of linguistically diverse mothers and infants participating in an Australian early obesity prevention trial.

BACKGROUND: Early obesity prevention research interventions in Australia generally expect participants to be able to communicate in English, but do not account for other languages. This study aimed to investigate engagement, satisfaction, retention and behavioural outcomes of linguistically diverse participants from a mainstream early childhood obesity prevention trial. METHODS: Healthy Beginnings is a nurse-led intervention based in Sydney, supporting families with optimal infant feeding and active play via telephone. This secondary analysis assessed participant engagement in the nurse telep

Satisfaction of Search in Periapical Radiograph Interpretation.

INTRODUCTION: Several studies in radiology and medicine have evaluated the satisfaction of search (SOS) error effect in chest radiography, abdominal radiography, osteoradiology, and patients with multiple trauma. No research to date has been published evaluating the possible existence of the SOS error phenomenon made during dental periapical radiograph interpretations. The purpose of the present pilot study was to determine if an SOS error effect exists when dental clinicians interpret periapical radiographs. The null hypothesis was that the detection accuracy will be the same or will improve

Responsible Gambling Telephone Intervention to High-Risk Gamblers by a State-Owned Gambling Operator in Sweden: Study Protocol for a Study on Effectiveness, User Satisfaction, and Acceptability.

Gambling disorder is associated with severe financial, social, and psychological consequences, but treatment-seeking rates have been described to be low. Apart from formal treatment, motivational interventions in nontreatment-seeking high-risk gamblers have been shown to be promising. However, little is known about the effectiveness and acceptability of such motivational interventions carried out by a gambling operator as part of the company's responsible gambling policies. Early experiences of such interventions are limited by the risk that gambling in individuals reached with the interventio

The Psychology of Yoga Practitioners: A Cluster Analysis.

Yoga practitioners (N = 261) completed the revised Expression of Spirituality Inventory (ESI) and the Multidimensional Body-Self Relations Questionnaire. Cluster analysis revealed three clusters: Cluster A scored high on all four spiritual constructs. They had high positive evaluations of their appearance, but a lower orientation towards their appearance. They tended to have a high evaluation of their fitness and health, and higher body satisfaction. Cluster B showed lower scores on the spiritual constructs. Like Cluster A, members of Cluster B tended to show high positive evaluations of appea

Problems with sexuality after sexual assault.

In this article, we review a number of studies on sexual functioning after sexual assault. Among the studies discussed, three different approaches can be distinguished: the descriptive analyses of sexual functioning and sexual problems, the exploration of factors which predict sexual problems, and the study of relationships between sexual problems and other psychological problems. Although the studies vary considerably in methodology, they point to the conclusion that frequency of sexual contact decreases after sexual assault. Satisfaction and pleasure in sexual activities seem to diminish for

Validating a measure of patient satisfaction with community nursing services.

This study describes an attempt to develop and validate a measure of patient satisfaction with a district nursing service in a south-west London inner city borough. The patients were 126 house-bound elderly people living alone and dependent upon district nursing services. The patient satisfaction measure was derived from an earlier North American questionnaire assessing satisfaction with hospital nursing services. The results indicated that the measure chosen reflected multiple dimensions of patient satisfaction that were differentially sensitive to factors such as the degree of personalizatio

Maternal Satisfaction with Perinatal Care and Breastfeeding at 6 Months Postpartum.

Positive childbirth experiences increase breastfeeding in the early postpartum period. Using a diverse, clinic-based sample of predominately low-income women (n = 118) recruited at their first prenatal appointment in 2017-2018 and followed through six months postpartum, binary logistic regression analyses were used to examine the association between maternal satisfaction with perinatal care measured two weeks postpartum and breastfeeding at six months postpartum. Participants reported high satisfaction with perinatal care overall (mean = 25.7; range of 6-30), and 25% of participants reported b

Perceived satisfaction of women during labour at the Hospital Universitario Materno-Infantil of the Canary Islands through the Childbirth Experience Questionnaire (CEQ-E).

OBJECTIVE: To determine the degree of satisfaction of women after childbirth at the Hospital Universitario Materno-Infantil of Gran Canaria (HUMIC) and to establish possible relationships between the degree of satisfaction and the variables studied. METHOD: A cross-sectional, descriptive, observational study with an analytical component. The study population comprised women who gave birth at the HUMIC in November 2018, recruited through consecutive non-probabilistic sampling. The Spanish version of the Childbirth Experience Questionnaire (CEQ-E) was used (questionnaire with 4 domains: own cap

Prediction of satisfaction after correction surgery for adult spinal deformity: differences between younger and older patients.

PURPOSE: Achieving an adequate level of patient's satisfaction with results is one of the goals of adult spinal deformity (ASD) surgery. However, it is unclear whether the same factors affect satisfaction in all patient populations. Patients' age influences the postoperative course and prevalence of complications after ASD surgery. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors predicting satisfaction 2 years after ASD surgery in younger and older patients. METHODS: A total of 119 patients under 40 years old, 155 patients 40 to 65 years old, and 148 patients over 65 years old at surge
