The photophysical properties of two classes of porphyrins and metalloporphyrins linked to N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) Au(I) complexes have been investigated by means of density functional theory and its time-dependent extension for their potential application in photodynamic therapy. In this study, we investigated the elasticity of the optic nerve using shear wave elastography (SWE) in patients with Behçet's Disease (BD) and compare findings with a healthy control group. Optic nerve measurements of 40 eyes in the BD group and 38 eyes in the control group were performed by SWE (SWE-right and SWE-left). OBJECTIVES: This systematic review evaluated the evidence for the effectiveness of Photodynamic therapy (PDT) in treating oral fungal infections, as an alternative to conventional antifungal medications.
METHODS: Five randomized control trials (168 participants) comparing the treatment of oral fungal infections using met with our inclusion criteria. Clinical and microbiological improvement was assessed by random-effects meta-analysis. Methodological quality assessment and heterogeneity were performed using peer-reviewed criteria. In this work, we used photodynamic therapy(ALA-PDT) to treat 2 patients with perianal hemorrhoids combined with condyloma acuminatum. After 4 photodynamic treatments, the condyloma acuminata skin lesions completely disappeared. At the same time, we unexpectedly found that the patient's hemorrhoids skin lesions had mostly faded, and did not reappear during the half-year follow-up. Photodynamic therapy is satisfactory in the treatment of hemorrhoids combined with condyloma acuminatum, and the recurrence rate is low. Necrobiosis lipoidica is a rare chronic granulomatous disease. Multiple treatment approaches are available, but results are generally minimal and inconsistent. Some publications report variable results with photodynamic therapy (PDT) as a second line of treatment for refractory cases.
