The first metallacycles formed by oxidative addition of tin-sulfur, tin-selenium, tin-tellurium, and germanium-tellurium bonds to platinum(II) are reported. The development of metal complex-based photosensitizers that can precisely regulate cell fate via lipid droplet (LD)-mediated pathways remains challenging. Herein, an LD-specific targeting Pt(II) complex was designed to address this limitation by directly inducing sufficient lipid peroxidation (LPO) accumulation, offering a novel platform for synergistic ferroptosis-apoptosis cancer therapy.
