CLIP-CGPNet: A Multimodal Clinical Decision Support System for Postoperative UTUC Recurrence Prediction.

Accurate prediction of postoperative recurrence is essential for individualized management and follow-up planning in patients with upper tract urothelial carcinoma (UTUC). However, reliable risk stratification remains challenging due to the heterogeneous nature of imaging characteristics and clinical information. In this study, we propose a multimodal clinical decision support framework that integrates contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CT) images with routinely available clinical variables for postoperative recurrence prediction. The proposed framework adopts an image-clinical integrated

A Systematic Evaluation of Molecule Generation Models for De Novo Drug Design: From Benchmarks to Practical Insights.

Molecule generation has emerged as a powerful computational tool for de novo drug design, enabling the exploration of the chemical space beyond the limits of conventional virtual screening. The field has progressed rapidly, driven by advances in molecular representations, generative architectures, and target-aware modeling strategies. However, existing reviews typically address specific model families or application scenarios in isolation rather than offering an integrated perspective on how these components collectively form a coherent generation workflow. In this review, we present a compreh

A non-local multi-head spatiotemporal attention LSTM for vehicle trajectory prediction.

Vehicle trajectory prediction (VTP) is the primary part of the perception-planning-control pipeline in autonomous driving. The inter-vehicle interactions strongly shape the trajectory of vehicles in complex traffic scenarios. Neural networks that use recurrent or convolutional architectures often exhibit performance degradation in longer prediction horizons. Many existing approaches confine interaction modeling to a predefined spatial neighborhood and a narrow temporal window, while implicitly assuming that all neighboring vehicles have equal influence on the future trajectory of target vehicl

Prediction of blood pressure changes associated with abdominal pressure changes during robotic laparoscopic low abdominal surgery using deep learning.

BACKGROUND: Intraoperative hypertension and blood pressure (BP) fluctuation are known to be associated with negative patient outcomes. During robotic lower abdominal surgery, the patient's abdominal cavity is filled with CO2, and the patient's head is steeply positioned toward the floor (Trendelenburg position). Pneumoperitoneum and the Trendelenburg position together with physiological alterations during anesthesia, interfere with predicting BP changes. Recently, deep learning using recurrent neural networks (RNN) was shown to be effective in predicting intraoperative BP. A model for predicti…

RTGNet: A Dual-Branch Network Integrating Recurrent Texture and Temporal Dynamics from sEMG for Lower-Limb Joint Angle Prediction.

Accurate continuous prediction of lower-limb joint angles from surface electromyography (sEMG) remains challenging because of the nonlinear, non-stationary, and subject-specific nature of sEMG signals, which can reduce robustness and lead to degraded prediction accuracy during highly dynamic gait phases. In this study, we propose RTGNet, a dual-branch deep learning framework for lower-limb joint-angle prediction from multichannel sEMG. The method constructs two feature views from the same sEMG stream: recurrence-plot (RP)-based representations for nonlinear texture characterization and time-se

Optimizing the Output of Long Short-Term Memory Cell for High-Frequency Forecasting in Financial Markets.

High-frequency trading (HFT) requires fast data processing without information lags for precise stock price forecasting. This high-paced stock price forecasting is usually based on vectors that need to be treated as sequential and time-independent signals due to the time irregularities that are inherent in HFT. A well-documented and tested method that considers these time irregularities is a type of recurrent neural network (NN), named long short-term memory (LSTM) NN. This type of NN is formed based on cells that perform sequential and stale calculations via gates and states without knowing w

Localizing Target for Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation in Drug-Resistant Epilepsy Using Dynamic EEG Source Network.

Epilepsy is a brain network disorder characterized by recurrent seizures. Transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) shows promise for treating drug-resistant epilepsy. The placement of the tDCS cathodal electrode is primarily on the scalp over the suspected epileptogenic zone; quantitative analysis is needed to support the selection. Additionally, identifying a target is difficult for patients with unclear focus or negative MRI findings. To address these issues, we proposed a non-invasive method to localize the target for tDCS based on the epileptogenic network. Interictal scalp EEG was u

An innovative Squid Game Optimizer for enhanced channel estimation and massive MIMO detection using dilated adaptive RNNs.

The Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) system can provide improved spectral efficiency and energy performance. However, the computational demand faced by conventional signal recognition techniques has significantly increased due to the growing number of antennas and higher-order modulations. To overcome these challenges, deep learning approaches are adopted as they offer versatility, nonlinear modelling capabilities, and parallel computation efficiency for large-scale MIMO detection. Therefore, a deep network for channel estimation and massive MIMO detection is developed to reduce computati

Modeling the rhythmic complexity of professional drumming with an oscillation-driven reservoir computer.

UNLABELLED: Musical performances, particularly in drumming, are characterized not only by their structured rhythmic patterns but also by the subtle variations in timing and amplitude series that create expressive complexity. This study proposes a neural-inspired computational model to investigate how the brain might learn and internalize such complex rhythms. Inspired by the established roles of the cerebellum and basal ganglia in production of rhythms and timings, we utilize an oscillation-driven reservoir computer, a recurrent neural network model for temporal learning, to simulate the gener

Predicting Underestimation of Invasive Cancer in Patients with Core-Needle-Biopsy-Diagnosed Ductal Carcinoma In Situ Using Deep Learning Algorithms.

The prediction of an occult invasive component in ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) before surgery is of clinical importance because the treatment strategies are different between pure DCIS without invasive component and upgraded DCIS. We demonstrated the potential of using deep learning models for differentiating between upgraded versus pure DCIS in DCIS diagnosed by core-needle biopsy. Preoperative axial dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) data from 352 lesions were used to train, validate, and test three different types of deep learning models. The highest performance w

Assessment of the potential protective effects of culture filtrate of Trichoderma harzianum to ameliorate the damaged histoarchitecture of brain in epileptic rats.

The simultaneous hyperexcitability of the neural network is the most well-known manifestation of epilepsy that causes recurrent seizures. The current study was aimed to examine any potential safety benefits of the culture filtrate of Trichoderma harzianum (ThCF) to ameliorate damaged histoarchitecture of the brain in epileptic rats by assessing seizure intensity scale and behavioral impairments and follow up the spontaneous motor seizures during status epilepticus phases in rats. Twenty-four rats were divided into four groups; control (C), epileptic (EP) valproic acid-treated epileptic (EP-VPA

The Olive Phenolic S-(-)-Hydroxyoleocanthal Attenuates Neuroendocrine Prostate Cancer via Modulation of EPHA3-Centered Oncogenic Network.

Background/Objectives. Prostate cancer (PCa) is the second leading cause of cancer-related mortality among men in the United States. Treatment with second-generation androgen receptor (AR) inhibitors, such as enzalutamide, can trigger lineage plasticity, promoting the transdifferentiation of PCa cells into an AR-independent, poorly differentiated neuroendocrine phenotype (NEPC). The receptor tyrosine kinase EPHA3 is a critical driver for NEPC. It is overexpressed in PCa, particularly in androgen-independent and neuroendocrine subtypes. EPHA3 activates c-Myc signaling to enhance EZH2 expression

SiCRNN: A Siamese Approach for Sleep Apnea Identification via Tracheal Microphone Signals.

Sleep apnea syndrome (SAS) affects about 3-7% of the global population, but is often undiagnosed. It involves pauses in breathing during sleep, for at least 10 s, due to partial or total airway blockage. The current gold standard for diagnosing SAS is polysomnography (PSG), an intrusive procedure that depends on subjective assessment by expert clinicians. To address the limitations of PSG, we propose a decision support system, which uses a tracheal microphone for data collection and a deep learning (DL) approach-namely SiCRNN-to detect apnea events during overnight sleep recordings. Our propos

Inflammatory Profiles of the Interleukin Family and Network in Cerebral Hemorrhage.

Cerebral hemorrhage is a series of devastating cerebrovascular diseases with high mortality, morbidity and recurrence rate. Localized and systemic immuno-reactions are involved. Aggregation of immunocytes, which were both recruited from the peripheral circulation and resident in the central nervous system, is induced and activated by hematoma-related blood components. Subsequently, various cytokines, chemokines, free radicals and toxic chemicals are secreted to participant host defense responses. Among these, neuro-inflammation plays critical roles in both the pathologic processes of secondary
