Thirty-six women with postmenopausal osteoporosis (31 of them with at least one non-traumatic vertebral compression fracture) were matched pair-wise as to age, years since menopause and body mass index and randomized to receive either cyclical estrogen-progestagen replacement treatment (group 1) or the same treatment plus nandrolone decanoate (group 2). Four patients with complete forearm amputations between the wrist and elbow were analyzed prospectively to determine the interrelationships of thermoregulation to pain, cold intolerance, arterial integrity, venous competence, motor nerve recovery, sensory nerve recovery, and time. We report a rare case of a 92-year-old male, with a history of statin/ezetimibe intake, complained of pain and swelling of left forearm. The patient was diagnosed with focal myositis at first. Symptoms aggravated after 2 months of immunomodulatory therapy, and accompanied with protrusion lesion at left elbow. Biopsy of the protrusion lesion turned out to be primary cutaneous diffuse large B-cell lymphoma.

The distal radioulnar joint is inherently unstable, relying primarily on ligaments for stability. Disruption of the joint-stabilizing structures can occur in isolation or concomitantly with osseous trauma. Instability can result from dislocations, fractures, ligament injuries, or malunions. Untreated instability alters wrist and forearm kinematics, leading to pain, weakness, and possibly arthritis. In chronic instability, the native ligaments may not be reparable, necessitating a reconstructive procedure.

Distal radius fractures with severe displacement or concomitant triangular fibrocartilage complex tears may be accompanied by distal radioulnar joint instability. Clinicians should examine the distal radioulnar joint closely when managing wrist fractures and treat coexisting instability appropriately. Chronic instability from distal radius malunion may require osteotomy or radioulnar ligament reconstruction. With proper management, most patients recover forearm stability and rotational motion after distal radius fracture.

In this case report, we present a young female patient with a history of Gorham disease, who sustained pathologic fractures of the left radius and ulna after a low-impact fall. Massive osteolysis of the left forearm and wrist was noted on plain radiographs. We present an interesting image of the inadvertent arterial injection of I-MIBG (metaiodobenzylguanidine) in a 36-year-old man with hereditary, metastatic pheochromocytoma, who underwent a diagnostic whole-body scan for the evaluation of extent of disease before possible I-MIBG therapy. During the tracer injection in the left antecubital area, the patient experienced tingling and skin redness in the left forearm and hand.

Elbow dislocation with ipsilateral diaphyseal fracture of both radius and ulna is a rare injury. However, elbow dislocation with either radius or ulnar diaphyseal fracture is commonly reported. We report an uncommon injury of a 16 years old male who had his elbow dislocation with ipsilateral both bones forearm fractures. Elbow dislocation was reduced and fracture both bones were fixed with dynamic compression plate under brachial block.
