In an open study, ten people with phobia or panic disorder who could not travel repeatedly to a therapist accessed a computer-aided exposure self-help system (FearFighter) at home on the internet with brief therapist support by telephone. They improved significantly, and their outcome and satisfaction resembled those in patients with similar disorders who used FearFighter in clinics with brief face-to-face therapist support.

Although the liver and spleen are frequently involved in primary systemic amyloidosis, the clinical manifestations of hepatic and splenic involvement are usually mild and a dominant symptomatic hepatic presentation is uncommon. We report a case of a 51-year-old woman with giant hepatomegaly, hypertransaminasemia, increase in alkaline phosphatase, and ascites, in whom the findings of dual-phase spiral computed tomography suggested liver and splenic amyloidosis.

This is a presentation of a case of tuberous sclerosis with multifocal hamartomas in the retroperitoneum, both kidneys, and the liver. Lymphangiectasia and numerous ectatic lymphatic channels penetrating through the retroperitoneal angiomyolipoma were demonstrated by lymphography and computed tomography. The findings in our study may document the presence of degenerative change in the lymphatic system--not just in elastic vessels--an association which has not yet been reported in the radiological literature.

We report a case of a periurethral abscess caused by an ulcer at the glans penis successfully treated by chemotherapy and in addition by puncture of the liquified abscess. Diagnosis was made by ultrasound as the first-step imaging system, the exact time point for abscess puncture was determined by computer tomography. Periurethral abscess is a very rare pathological entity; to our knowledge there is no reported case of a nonvenereological ulcer as the primary lesion.

Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a well recognized cause of an acute abdomen. What is less well recognized is that the underlying pathology can be varied. The computed tomography (CT) and ultrasound appearances of the gall-bladder in a case of SLE serositis are shown. The imaging findings were strongly suggestive of primary gall-bladder disease although at laparotomy the gall-bladder showed serosal inflammation only.

The cystic lymphangioma of the liver is an extremely rare benign tumor that usually belongs to a systemic lymphangiomatosis. A case of an adult woman presenting a cystic lymphangioma as single hepatic lesion with no other viscera affected is described. Ultrasonography and computed tomography did not allow a differential diagnosis of the lesion from the more common hydatid cyst. Definitive diagnosis and treatment were reached only by exploratory laparotomy.

Twelve patients with moyamoya disease were examined, 6 of them suffered from epileptic seizures. The epileptic syndrome was of a polymorphic, but mostly of a localized character. The authors emphasize the importance of complex examination of the patients, including angiography, EEG, computed tomography, scintigraphy of the brain, and blood test. It is suggested that the affection of the vessels in this disease is systemic. Combined treatment by means of nonoperative and operative methods is suggested.

A 49-year-old man with meningeal cysticercosis presented with a pure motor hemiparesis. Computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging showed a capsular infarction and a suprasellar cyst with surrounding arachnoiditis. Cerebrospinal fluid analysis confirmed the diagnosis as it showed positive immunologic reactions to cysticerci. This is the first reported case of pure motor hemiparesis due to a parasitic disease of the central nervous system.

The case of a 66-year-old woman who developed both trigeminal neuralgia and hemifacial spasm caused by a tortuous vertebrobasilar system is reported. Vertebral angiography showed a dilated and elongated basilar artery overlying the porus acusticus of the internal auditory canal. Double-contrast computed tomography scanning was very useful in evaluating this abnormality. Vascular decompression was performed by using a fenestration clip.
