INTRODUCTION: Keratometry forms an important component of the biometry for a calculation of the intraocular lens power and selecting a contact lens' parameters.
OBJECTIVE: To investigate the agreement between three different keratometers commonly used in an ophthalmology clinic.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: In this prospective study, keratometry was performed using an IOL Master (IM), a manual keratometer (Man) and a autokeratometer (Top) in twenty five eyes of thirteen volunteer subjects. The average keratometry values and corneal astigmatism (J180 and J45 components) were computed and compared.

Artificial drainage devices (ADD) create an alternative pathway for aqueous drainage from the anterior chamber of an eye through a tube to the subconjunctival bleb connected to an equatorial plate under the conjunctiva. The ADDs, both valved and non-valved, are available for end stage or refractory glaucoma. Currently, some of these devices, particularly the Express shunt, are recommended for the primary treatment of glaucoma. In this article, we highlight various ADDs, their indications and contraindications, surgical techniques and associated complications.

A case of congenital isolated coloboma of both the upper lids from just lateral to the lacrimal punctum up to the medial half, with symblepharon in the region of lower eyelid, was studied in a 7-year-old female child. She did not have any other associated anomalies. The birth and family histories were normal. The puncta were normal in position and well apposed to the globe. The closure of the lid coloboma was done by release of symblepharon along with direct closure of the defect, for the right eye first, and one month later, for the left eye.
