Evolution of artificial intelligence in breast cancer pathology: a bibliometric analysis.

BACKGROUND: Breast cancer is the most common malignant tumor affecting women, and pathology serves as the primary method for its diagnosis. In recent years, artificial intelligence (AI) has increasingly been applied to the pathological diagnosis of breast cancer. This study, therefore, aims to conduct a bibliometric analysis of the literature on artificial intelligence in breast cancer pathology (AIBCP) to map the research landscape, identify key trends, and highlight emerging directions. METHODS: A total of 1089 relevant publications from 2011 to 2025 were retrieved from the Web of Science (

Clinical features, diagnosis, and referral of women with breast abnormalities in primary health care settings in rural Ethiopia: a retrospective record analysis.

BACKGROUND: Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among women worldwide. At the primary health care level, understanding the magnitude of different breast abnormalities and current referral practices can improve patient-centred health care services, enhance patient education and awareness, and encourage interdisciplinary collaboration to enhance breast cancer outcomes, in line with the World Health Organization Breast Cancer Global Initiative (GBCI) Pillar One Goal. Thus, this study aims to explore the burden of breast-related abnormalities and their clinical features during pres

The impact of pharmacist-led medication reconciliation on quality of life and hospital stay in chronic kidney disease: a prospective study in Jordan.

BACKGROUND: Patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) often experience a poor quality of life (QoL), prolonged hospital stays (length of stay, LOS), and an increased risk of drug-related problems (DRPs) due to high comorbidity rates, pill burden, and frequent care transitions. Providing effective management can significantly improve the overall health status of CKD patients. This study evaluated the impact of the pharmacist-led medication reconciliation service on health-related QoL and LOS in CKD inpatients and the prevalence of DRPs in this population. METHODS: This 9-month prospective qua

Complementary activity of an ancient combination of natural ingredients on the dysbiosis symptoms linked to acne.

ETHNOPHARMACOLOGICAL RELEVANCE: Acne is one of the most common dermatologic diseases in the world. It is due to the secretion of a high level of sebum that causes follicular hyperkeratinisation, alterations of the cutaneous microbiota, and inflammatory processes. One of the first-line treatments is still an antibiotic prescription, that inhibits bacterial growth and, as a consequence, lowers some of the other symptoms. Nevertheless, this high level of antibiotic prescription contributes to the increase of antibiotic resistance. Alternatives to antibiotics are thus highly required, as acne does

Exploring nurses' knowledge, attitudes, and competence in holistic palliative care management in Papua New Guinea: a mixed-methods study.

BACKGROUND: Palliative care is crucial for enhancing the quality of life for terminally ill patients, like those with cancer, but only 14% of those in need receive it, especially in resource-limited areas like Papua New Guinea (PNG). In 2018, PNG reported 7,477 cancer deaths and 11,913 new cases, with a projected 79% increase in patients by 2040. Nurses are vital to palliative care, yet gaps in competencies, particularly in pain management, affect care quality. This study aims to evaluate nurses’ knowledge, attitudes, and competencies in palliative care in PNG, considering the unique challenge

Virtual reality hypnosis prior to radiofrequency thermocoagulation for patients with chronic pain: an exploratory clinical trial.

BACKGROUND: The management of chronic pain may involve an array of tools, including radiofrequency thermocoagulation (Rf-Tc) of sensory nerve terminals. Like many other invasive procedures, Rf-Tc can generate anxiety in a lot of patients, either during the expectation of the procedure or in the course of it. Virtual reality hypnosis (VRH) is a promising tool for managing anxiety and pain in several situations, but its anxiolytic property has not been investigated in participants with chronic pain and going through a Rf-Tc procedure. OBJECTIVES: The goal of this study was to evaluate the effec
