We report a rare case of a 6-year-old boy with a complex right-sided cervical aortic arch, with retroesophageal hypoplastic transverse arch, left subclavian artery arising from the Kommerell diverticulum of the descending aorta, and a vascular ring formed by the ductus ligament. An extraanatomic ascending-to-descending aorta bypass was done through a median sternotomy along with division of the ductus ligament, without any complications and good results.

Meckel's diverticulum is commonest lead point for intussusception in children. Appendix is part of the intusssusception of the commonest ileocolic type but appendix as lead point for intussusception is rare. We report a series of 3 cases of intussusception in children, wherein a pathological appendix was the lead point. We would like to propose that more likely a pathological appendix, acts as a lead point leading to an appendico-caeco-colic intussusception rather than a normal appendix.

The majority of patients with small bowel diverticula are asymptomatic, however, associated complications include inflammation, intestinal obstruction, perforation and gastrointestinal haemorrhage. Bladder divertulae are uncommon and can herniate into the femoral or inguinal canal as well as the scrotum. We report the case of an elderly lady who underwent laparotomy for an incarcerated femoral hernia and was found to have the catheter balloon stuck into a bladder diverticulum in the femoral canal and coexisting small bowel diverticular perforation.

The presence of a paratracheal air collection in the setting of acute trauma may indicate a wide array of etiologies. When a paratracheal air collection is found in a trauma patient, the possibility of tracheal or esophageal rupture must be considered. Tracheal diverticulae are most frequently found incidentally during autopsy, with an incidence of approximately 1%. We present a case of an incidental tracheal diverticulum in a patient with a recent history of motor vehicle accident with chest and neck trauma.

An anterior sacral meningocele is a diverticulum of the thecal sac protruding anteriorly from the sacral spinal canal into the extraperitoneal presacral space. It is a rare congenital anomaly comprising of a thin wall of fibrous connective tissue, and containing cerebrospinal fluid and, occasionally, adjacent nerve fibers. We report an unusual case of a 48-year-old male who presented with meningitis secondary to a rectothecal fistula arising from an anterior sacral meningocele.

Chronic intussusception as a cause of persistent abdominal pain in children is often an overlooked diagnosis. Here we present an eight-year-old boy, who at the age of three years had an acute intussusception reduced hydrostatically with barium and who subsequently had been extensively investigated both in Wales and in Switzerland, for persistent colicky abdominal pain. He was found to have chronic intussusception, with a Meckel's diverticulum being the cause of his symptoms.

Four children were operated on by the transpubic approach for injury to the vagina or urethra and to correct malformations within the pelvis minor. One boy had posttraumatic stricture of the urethra, and a girl presented with disruption of the urethra and vagina. One of two boys who had congenital malformations was treated for epispadias and incontinence; the other for a large urethral diverticulum caused by anal atresia. Total reconstruction was achieved, and no complications of symphysis restoration were observed.

With perforation during acute diverticulitis, with or without abscess, the highest mortality occurs in patients in whom a transverse colostomy with drainage alone is done. This is no longer to be considered an acceptable method of management. The advantage of removal of the diseased intestine is paramount. Anastomosis under unfavorable conditions is avoided. The results in this group of severe, acutely ill patients with associated multiple systemic disease encouraged wider application of the Hartmann operation for the complex problems of inflammation of the diverticulum.

A case of true duplication of the gallbladder and three cases with roentgen signs simulating duplication are reported. In true duplication the diagnosis was made by routine cholecystography which showed a double gallbladder with ductular shape. In three cases the cause for an incorrect diagnosis by cholecystography were an ampullary right renal pelvis visualized by heterotopic renal excretion of the contrast medium, a short loop of the first and second part of the duodenum and a diverticulum at the outer border of the duodenum.
