There is controversy about the beneficial effects of topical progesterone creams used by postmenopausal women. A major concern is that serum progesterone levels achieved with progesterone creams are too low to have a secretory effect on the endometrium. However, antiproliferative effects on the endometrium have been demonstrated with progesterone creams when circulating levels of progesterone are low. OBJECTIVE: To compare the intradermal and percutaneous routes of BCG administration.
SOURCES OF DATA: A review of the literature published between 1987 and 2002 was carried out in the MEDLINE and Lilacs databases. The following key words were used: BCG vaccine/administration, adverse effects, efficacy, tuberculosis/prevention and control. Some articles published before 1987 were included because of their relevance to the topic.

Myoclonus is a common and well-described adverse effect of opioids. Most cases reported in the literature have been associated with opioid administration, rather than with opioid withdrawal. We describe a case of myoclonus secondary to withdrawal from transdermal fentanyl. We review the literature regarding myoclonus related to opioid therapy (opioid-induced myoclonus) and withdrawal (opioid withdrawal myoclonus), and discuss possible mechanisms and therapies for these phenomena.
