The serum specimens of patients attending clinics and polyclinics of our hospital and suspected of having brucellosis were evaluated for B. abortus, B. canis and C. burnetti by Wright agglutination, 2ME. TAT (2 mercaptoethanol Tube Agglutination) and KBR (Complement Fixation reaction) tests. A total of 514 sera was examined gram 296 men and 218 women. We detected antibody to C. burnetti 156 (30,39%) of the sera and B. canis in 43 (8.3%) and to B. abortus in 32 (6.2%).

Fallopian tube fluid and sera from 33 fertile and 48 infertile patients were investigated for spermatozoal antibodies by gelatin agglutination, immobilization, and indirect immunofluorescence tests. Oviductal fluids were obtained as washings after tubal catheterization. The incidences of antisperm activity in oviductal washings ranged from 9% to 58.3% depending on the tests used. The reliability of the new latex-agglutination test super duo for the detection of antigens of T.vaginalis and Candida, a prospective screening method for trichomoniasis, was verified. In a group of 27 women the microscopic and culture diagnosis of trichomoniasis was established in 22 patients and 21 of them were positive in the latex-agglutination test for T.vaginalis. The immunochemical examination was not positive in either of the five women with findings of negative cultivation for the parasite. The intensity of agglutination was in good correlation with the clinical signs of inflammation.

A microagglutination test with safranin-stained Francisella tularensis antigen was compared with a conventional tube agglutination test for the serodiagnosis of tularemia. The microagglutination test was performed in round-bottom microtiter plates by using 0.025 ml of the antisera and of the antigen. The antibody titers obtained by using the microagglutination test were 8 to 64 times higher than those seen with the tube agglutination.
