Alberta Infant Motor Scale (AIMS) Performance of Greek Preterm Infants: Comparisons With Full-Term Infants of the Same Nationality and Impact of Prematurity-Related Morbidity Factors.

BACKGROUND: Only a few studies have been conducted with the objective of creating norms of the Alberta Infant Motor Scale (AIMS) for the assessment of gross motor development of preterm infants. The AIMS performance of preterm infants has been compared with that of the Canadian norms of full-term infants, but not with that of full-term infants of the same nationality. Moreover, the possible impact of prematurity-related morbidity factors on AIMS performance is unknown. OBJECTIVES: The aims of this study were: (1) to evaluate AIMS trajectory in a large population of Greek preterm infants and c…

Seasonal Patterns of Hospitalizations for Pediatric Acute Respiratory Diseases by Age Group and Sex in Alberta, Canada: A Population-Level Retrospective Cohort Study From 2010 to 2025.

After the near disappearance of pediatric acute respiratory disease (ARD) hospitalizations during the COVID-19 pandemic (2020-2021), during the late-pandemic (2022-2023), only the resurgence in bronchiolitis, including both age groups and sexes, exceeded seasonal autoregressive integrated moving average model reference ranges. Two full seasons post-pandemic (2023-2024, 2024-2025), pediatric ARD hospitalizations remained within SARIMA model reference ranges developed on pre-pandemic patterns.

Associations between maternal folate status and choline intake during pregnancy and neurodevelopment at 3-4 years of age in the Alberta Pregnancy Outcomes and Nutrition (APrON) study.

Folate and choline are methyl donor nutrients that may play a role in fetal brain development. Animal studies have reported that prenatal folate and choline supplementation are associated with better cognitive outcomes in offspring and that these nutrients may interact and affect brain development. Human studies that have investigated associations between maternal prenatal folate or choline levels and neurodevelopmental outcomes have reported contradictory findings and no human studies have examined the potential interactive effect of folate and choline on children's neurodevelopment. During t

Coordinated Primary-Care Access in Rural and Suburban Alberta, with a Contextual Comparison to Rural Wyoming: A Systematic Review and Narrative Synthesis of Community Pharmacist-Family Physician Care Models.

Background/Objectives: Primary-care access in Alberta, Canada, is shaped by geography, attachment, timeliness, continuity, and local service capacity. Rural communities may face travel burden, workforce fragility, and intermittent services, whereas suburban communities may have nearby facilities but still experience delayed access, low attachment, and fragmented episodic care. Rural Wyoming has some similar geographic and workforce constraints, although the jurisdictions differ in financing, regulation, and pharmacist scope. This systematic review and narrative synthesis examined evidence on c…
