Supravalvular aortic stenosis is the rarest form of left ventricular outflow tract obstruction. Aspergillus endocarditis is also rare and generally reported in immunocompromised hosts. Here we present a case of an immunocompetent patient with supravalvular aortic stenosis complicated by aortic mycotic pseudoaneurysm due to invasive aspergillosis.

This study presents a case of nasal aspergillosis in a 17-days old calf (German Fleckvieh): it had been admitted moribund to the Clinic for Ruminants of the University of Munich, and died after a short time. Pathologically, the calf was diagnosed with purulent-necrotizing rhinitis, necrotizing pneumonia, and diphtheroid-necrotizing abomasitis. Histologically, fungal elements were found in all the localizations mentioned before, and mycologically, Aspergillus fumigatus was cultured from nasal cavity. Pathogenesis is discussed.

Aspergillosis is a serious pathologic condition caused by Aspergillus organisms and is frequently seen in immunocompromised patients. In recent years, it has been shown that Aspergillus infection can result in a broad range of airway complications. In this article, we illustrate and review the characteristic computed tomography and pathologic findings of the different manifestations of Aspergillus infection involving the airways.

The incidence of aspergillosis in kidney transplant recipients is low and most commonly occurs in the early posttransplantation period. We report an unusual case of a 52-year-old female patient with Aspergillus endocarditis as a late complication after kidney transplantation, presumably spread from a necrosis in the gut, associated with previous cytomegalovirus colitis.
