The aim of the study was to determine correlations between performance of vertical jumps and dolphin kick sprints, and between the results of a dry-land butterfly arm pull test and butterfly arms-only swimming. Establishing common objectives and expectations concerning the outcome of proposed surgical orthodontic therapy is a crucial part of the treatment planning process, which has been greatly simplified by imaging software. The purpose of this study was to investigate the reliability of two surgical imaging programs--Dolphin Imaging 10 and Vistadent OC--in simulating the actual outcome of mandibular advancement surgery by using a visual analog scale (VAS) judged by a panel of orthodontists, oral surgeons, and laypersons. The predictions were also analyzed with soft tissue cephalometric evaluation.

A case of lobomycosis in a patient from the Brazilian Amazon region is presented. Lobomycosis is a subcutaneous mycosis caused by the yeast Lacazia loboi. It often affects adult males and has been reported in dolphins. Therapeutical options for localized lesions, such as the ones shown by the patient in this report, are eletrocoagulation, surgical exeresis, and cryotherapy. Disseminated lesions may be treated with Itraconazole or combination therapy with Clofazimine. There is still no curative therapy for disseminated lesions of lobomycosis.

Comparisons of skull shape between closely related species can provide information on the role that phylogeny and function play in cranial evolution. We used 3D-anatomical landmarks in order to study the skull ontogeny of two closely related species, Lagenorhynchus obscurus and Lagenorhynchus australis, with a total sample of 52 skulls.
