This article discusses drug purity, frequency of appearance and concentration ranges of adulterants of 471 illicit cocaine and 962 illicit heroin samples seized in Luxembourg from January 2005 to December 2010. In March 1991, four cyanide poisonings were identified in Washington State. Three of these, one nonfatal and two fatal, were directly linked to the consumption of capsules of Sudafed-12 hour cold relief capsules. Release of nickel into triamcinolone acetonide suspensions stored in the reservoir of a Dermo-Jet was demonstrated by electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry. Increased urinary nickel excretion was found for three days following intradermal injections (with the Dermo-Jet) of triamcinolone acetonide in patients suffering from alopecia areata. The dimethylglyoxime test showed that the internal rod of the reservoir as well as metallic internal parts of the nozzle leached appreciable amounts of nickel, even before any clinical use.

Nocardia farcinica, isolated by Nocard in 1888, has recently been redefined as a separate species to asteroides and has been recognised as human pathogen since 1975. Following airborne contamination, lung infection is most usual with frequent dissemination especially to central nervous system. Usually drug resistance makes treatment difficult.
