We report a pyogenic granuloma of the upper palpebral conjunctiva in a soft contact lens user. Pathological examination revealed numerous foreign bodies embedded within the specimen. The contact lens may have contributed to development of the lesion.

A review of the literature is done concerning Pyogenic Granuloma. From two hundred and thirty eight cases of our files. Twenty four cases are separated which are considered histopathologically different and to which the term Lobular Capillary Hemangioma is more applicable. Epidemiologic studies are analyzed and conclusions are established. Pyogenic Granuloma is more a reactive type of lesion of inflammatory nature, while Lobular Capillary Hemangioma separated as an entity is considered a lesion of benign neoplastic nature and vascular origin.

We treated exposure of the orbital implant with a dermis fat graft in two patients with an acquired anophthalmic orbit. During the first six postoperative months, a large polypoid tumor of the conjunctiva developed over the grafted tissue in each patient. Histologic examination of both lesions disclosed a pyogenic granuloma.

The case of a thirteen year old white girl who had multiple recurrences of pyogenic granuloma arranged in a satellite fashion is presented. The incidence and frequency of pyogenic granuloma with or without recurrences is discussed, stressing the unusual nature of the present problem. In addition to the microscopic features of pyogenic granuloma, the changes seen in Masson's hemangioma were demonstrable in some of the sections. The microscopic distinguishing feature of Masson's hemangioma is discussed, with emphasis on the importance of recognizing this as a benign structure rather than a malig

Subungual and periungual pyogenic granuloma occur in association with certain systemic medications. Paclitaxel is an antitumor drug of the taxane family used in the management of breast cancer. Taxanes have many associated nail changes that may occur in patients receiving either docetaxel or paclitaxel for systemic chemotherapy. The nail changes in a 68-year-old woman with metastatic breast cancer who presented for nail changes after receiving 12 cycles of weekly paclitaxel are described herein: nail plate red-brown discoloration, onycholysis with leukonychia, proximal subungual hemorrhage, an

Pyogenic granuloma (PG) is a benign vascular proliferation that commonly arises following trauma. Its occurrence in healing burn wounds, particularly in infants, is rare and poses diagnostic challenges. We present the case of an 11-month-old male who developed multiple rapidly growing, angiomatous nodules on the right cheek and scalp 2 weeks after sustaining a second-degree scald burn from boiling milk. The lesions exhibited typical bleeding and friability, prompting surgical excision and coverage with split-thickness skin grafts. Histopathological examination confirmed the diagnosis of PG. Po

BACKGROUND: Pyogenic granuloma (PG), also known as lobular capillary haemangioma, is a benign vascular proliferation that typically presents as friable, red, pedunculated papules on the skin or mucous membranes. Multiple periungual pyogenic granulomas, a unique entity within cutaneous pyogenic granulomas, most frequently occur in association with medications, including antiretroviral drugs.
CLINICAL CASE: A 30-year-old male living with HIV presented with painful, progressively enlarging ulcero-proliferative lesions on the fingertips and toes, occurring 12 months after initiating highly active

BACKGROUND: Pyogenic granulomas (PGs) are gingival enlargements which cause esthetic and functional problems that hinder chewing and maintaining oral hygiene. In this series consisting of six cases, we report the rehabilitation of PG using partly de-epithelialized gingival grafts.
METHODS: Following documentation of clinical measurements, a concurrent treatment plan of excision and reconstruction with partly de-epithelialized gingival grafts were followed for all the cases. Six months following procedures, clinical parameters were measured again and a short patient-reported outcome measures c

Pyogenic granuloma is a non-neoplastic inflammatory reactive hyperplasia commonly found on keratinized tissues caused by different factors such as hormonal imbalance. Pyogenic granuloma has a wide age range and is frequently found in females in the second to third decade. Pyogenic granuloma developed in pregnancy is commonly known as pregnancy tumor. The standard treatment approach is surgical excision of the lesion. In the case report, a 42-year-old female presented with a persistent oral lesion in the left anterior mandible. The lesion first appeared during pregnancy and remained in the oral

Pyogenic granuloma is one of the most common vascular tumours. The cause of pyogenic granuloma was previously thought to be an inflammatory reaction with consecutive stimulation of endothelial cell proliferation. However, recent studies suggest that pyogenic granuloma may be driven by constitutive activation of the mitogen-activated protein kinase pathway. The aim of this study was to investigate the molecular profile of sporadic pyogenic granuloma of childhood, using a systematic approach scrutinizing potential aberrations within different oncogenic pathways. Within a retrospective setting py

Pyogenic granuloma (PG) is a benign nonneoplastic mucocutaneous lesion. It occurs as a result of chronic irritation or due to hormonal changes. The most favorable site for this fairly common lesion is gingiva, but rarely, it can occur outside the oral cavity, later often difficult to diagnose, as a diverse group of the pathologic process can produce such lesions outside the oral cavity. The diagnosis is also challenging as the lesions appear as smooth or lobulated red nodules with easy bleeding, occasionally ulcerated mimicking malignancies. The purpose of this article is to report a rare case

Botriomycome-like Kaposi disease is a rare clinical and pathological variant of Kaposi disease. Showing features of pyogenic granuloma (PG) and of Kaposi's sarcoma (KS), it was initially named KS-like PG and considered benign.[2] It is now considered a true KS and was renamed PG-like KS due to the clinical course and the presence of human herpes virus-8 DNA.[13],[14] This entity has been mostly described on the lower extremities, but other rare locations such as hand, nasal mucosa, and face have been reported in the literature.[1],[3],[4] The location on the ear in an immune-competent field, l

Pyogenic granuloma is a benign vascular neoplasm of the oral cavity that usually presents as a small nodular lesion, the gingiva being the commonest site. Occasionally it occurs at uncommon sites with unusual sizes. Here we describe two cases of oral pyogenic granulomas that had an unusual presentation.

Pyogenic granuloma is a non-neoplastic reactive lesion that commonly occurs in gingiva. It is rarely found in other locations such as the lips, tongue, palate and buccal mucosa. Lesions affecting the upper lip are even rarer and very few cases have been reported in the literature. In such situations, the lesion may mimic other conditions such as minor salivary gland tumours, mesenchymal tumours, and infectious lesions, which may create diagnostic difficulty. This case report describes an uncommon location of pyogenic granuloma occurring on the upper lip in a 49-year-old male patient.

INTRODUCTION: Pyogenic granuloma (PG) is one of the inflammatory hyperplasia seen in the oral cavity. It is a reactional response to minor trauma or chronic irritation. The most common treatment of PG is surgical excision but alternative approaches such as laser excision have also been proposed especially for pediatric patients.
CASE REPORT: Herein, we present a case of gingival pyogenic granuloma in a 6-year-old patient. The lesion was excised successfully with diode laser as a conservative and non-stressful method in a pediatric patient.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: The use of laser as modern m

BACKGROUND: Pyogenic granuloma (PG) is a polypoid lobular capillary hemangioma rarely observed in the gastrointestinal tract. Only a few cases in the small bowel have been described in the literature.
CASE PRESENTATION: A 58-year-old man had been suffering from general fatigue and severe anemia. Esophagogastroduodenoscopy and colonoscopy did not reveal any significant bleeding. Abdominal computer tomography revealed a hypervascular tumor in the small intestine. Oral double-balloon endoscopy (DBE) detected a polypoid lesion (2 cm in diameter) in the jejunum. We performed laparoscopic-assisted
