Sixty-five patients having a total of 492 lesions were treated with the Candela pigmented lesion dye laser (510 nm, 300 ns). Lesions treated included café-au-lait macules, lentigines, seborrheic keratoses, and postinflammatory hyperpigmentation. Fluences varied from 2.0 J/cm2 to 3.5 J/cm2, but averaged 2.25 J/cm2. In connection of a sporadic and three familary cases a syndrome involving the skin, heart, eyes, bone-system, hearing organs and genitales is presented. As leading sign of the syndrome, profuse lentigiosis is held to be. Based on this finding, involvement of the other organs may occur too. We report a 12-year-old boy with multiple lentigines (Leopard) syndrome who was evaluated for learning difficulties and Gerstmann tetrad syndrome (i.e., dyscalculia, left-right disorientation, finger agnosia, and dysgraphia). Cranial computed tomography revealed left ventriculomegaly, more pronounced in the occipital horn suggesting mild atrophy of the left parietal lobe. This is the first report of an association between the Leopard and Gerstmann syndromes and one of the few to demonstrate a computed tomographic abnormality in the latter.
