Background Healthcare resource utilization is substantial for single-ventricle cardiac defects ( SVCD ), with effort commencing at time of fetal diagnosis through staged surgical palliation. We sought to characterize and identify variables that influence resource utilization for SVCD from fetal diagnosis through death, completed staged palliation, or cardiac transplant. A high number of circulating CD34+ cells has been advocated to distinguish primary myelofibrosis from other Philadelphia-negative myeloproliferative neoplasms. In chronic myelogenous leukemia, chromosomal abnormalities in Philadelphia-negative cells are rare and usually transient, but can infrequently lead to myelodysplastic syndrome and/or acute myeloid leukemia. We report an 82-ear-old patient with an 11-year history of chronic myelogenous leukemia, in complete cytogenetic response, who developed Philadelphia-negative t(15;17)/PMLRARA acute promyelocytic leukemia. We investigated chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML) patients who developed trisomy 8 abnormalities in Philadelphia-negative (Ph-) cells during imatinib mesylate treatment to evaluate the clinical outcome and laboratory features. We describe a patient with Philadelphia chromosome (Ph1)-positive acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL) who developed it 2.5 years after being diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS). INTRODUCTION: Medetomidine is an emerging adulterant in the illicit opioid drug supply with minimal data regarding clinical effects or blood concentrations after uncontrolled exposures in humans.

PURPOSE OF REVIEW: Given the high risk of relapse for Philadelphia-negative (Ph-negative) B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation (allo-HCT) is often recommended following first complete remission (CR1) in high-risk patients. However, in the era of measurable residual disease (MRD) testing, allo-HCT may not be indicated for patients with standard-risk disease.
