METHODS: From January 2009 to December 2010,25 patients with cervical spinal stenosis were treated by open door laminoplasty with Centerpiece titanium plate fixation. The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of traumatic orbital defect reconstruction with titanium mesh. A retrospective study was made. Evaluations were made after a minimum postoperative follow-up of 12 months, looking for the main complications. Twenty-four patients were included in this evaluation; 19 were male (79.1%) and 5 (20.8%) were female. The main injury etiology was vehicle accidents (50%) followed by other causes. Osteolysis of bone following total hip replacement is a major clinical problem. Examination of the areas surrounding failed implants has indicated an increase in the bone-resorption-inducing cytokine, interleukin 1β (IL-1β). NALP3, a NOD-like receptor protein located in the cytosol of macrophages, signals the cleavage of pro-IL-1β into its mature, secreted form, IL-1β. AIM: This retrospective monocentre study investigates long-term results of the cementless parabolic-shaped HI threaded cup.
MATERIAL AND METHODS: 678 threaded cups made of titanium were implanted into 641 patients from November 1991 to May 1995. Mean age was 67 years, 65 % female, 35 % male. We tested the feasibility of performing outpatient laparoscopic surgery to reverse tubal sterilization using titanium staples to reapproximate the oviducts. A total of 14 women underwent the procedure which involved excision of the tubal eschar, stenting of the severed remnants, and circumferential stapling of the muscularis and serosa.
