Efficacy and safety of extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT) were investigated in 36 patients with chronic lateral epicondylitis--9 patients receiving and 27 patients not receiving worker's compensation. All patients were treated with a single application of 3200 shock waves. Twelve weeks after treatment, the mean visual analog scale score for the entire group improved from 8.0 to 2.5 (P < .05), and the mean RAND 36-Item Health Survey (Physical Functioning) score improved from 65.6 to 88.0 (P < .05). It is reported on a case of porphyria cutanea tarda. With the exception of a low risk lead exposure during work no etiological factor could be revealed. Body deposits of lead were established by means of Ca-EDTA provocation. After cessation of exposure which was suggested to be the cause the state of health markedly improved. BACKGROUND: The Building Trades National Medical Screening Program (BTMed) was established in 1996 to provide occupational medicine screening examinations for construction workers who have worked at US Department of Energy nuclear sites. Workers participating in BTMed between 1998 and 2011 were followed to determine their vital status and mortality experience through December 31, 2011.

OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to investigate the prevalence of burnout experiences and factors associated with burnout among Korean health care workers during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.
