In this report, we review the most common entities that show a epidermal hyperplastic pattern in the biopsy. These entities include inflammatory, reactive, infectious, hamartomatous, and tumoral conditions, each with a very different prognosis. Therefore, an approach based on the classic "patterns and clues" tools used in dermatopathology can bring a lot of information to the dermatopathologist or the general pathologist evaluating these lesions.

BACKGROUND: Digital dermoscopy is the gold standard follow-up method for patients with high risk for developing cutaneous malignant melanoma. By comparing the same lesion at different moments, it allows early detection of subtle changes that could suggest the diagnosis of melanoma. BACKGROUND: CD30 is expressed in aggressive and Epstein-Barr virus-associated forms of B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphomas, but is rarely expressed by the majority of tumor cells in primary cutaneous B-cell lymphomas (CBCLs). The expression of CD30 in CBCLs may be at risk for misinterpretation as an unequivocal indicator of a highly aggressive form of the disease.
OBJECTIVE: We report 4 cases of low malignant primary cutaneous follicle center lymphoma (PCFCL) with diffuse and strong expression of CD30 by the majority of neoplastic cells.

We evaluated the role of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), placental growth factor (PlGF), and hypoxia-inducible factor 1-a (HIF1-a) in melanoma angiogenesis and investigated their expression in dysplastic nevi, as potential melanoma precursors. BACKGROUND: Ring chromosome 7 [r(7)] is a rare cytogenetic aberration, with only 16 cases (including 3 females) reported in the literature to date. This is the first reported case of r(7) from India.
METHOD: Clinical and cytogenetic investigations were carried out in an adult female with microcephaly and intellectual disability.
RESULTS: Ring chromosome 7 was observed in 10% of the metaphases (46,XX,r(7)/46,XX). The clinical findings revealed microcephaly, growth delay, and dark pigmented naevi.
