Dementia and Sleep Disorders: The Effects of Drug Therapy in a Systematic Review.

Currently, approximately 40% of patients with dementia develop some form of sleep disorder. Benzodiazepines are widely prescribed but pose the risk of tolerance and cognitive decline; however, Z-drugs may offer safer alternatives. Therefore, this systematic review aimed to analyze the effect of benzodiazepines and Z-drugs on sleep disorders in patients with dementia. Two authors conducted a systematic search in PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, Espistemonikos, and ACCESSSS for studies published between 2019 and 2024 using the MeSH terms "dementia", "sleep disorders", and "pharmacotherapy". Clinical efficacy and challenges of cancer-testis antigen vaccines in advanced solid tumors: A systematic review and meta-analysis.

Cancer-testis antigens (CTA) vaccines are being actively explored for advanced solid tumors, yet their clinical value remains uncertain. We conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis to December 21, 2024, synthesizing single-arm outcomes (objective response rate [ORR], disease control rate [DCR]) and randomized evidence for overall survival (OS) and disease-free survival (DFS) using random-effects models. Across 73 single-arm trials (n = 1435), the pooled ORR was 13.0 % (95 % CI 11.0-16.0; I²=32.7 %) and the DCR was 39.0 % (95 % CI 34.0-44.0; I²=6.5 %); higher ORRs were seen in melanoma (

A comprehensive systematic review of randomized controlled trials on anesthetic agents in children's upper gastrointestinal endoscopy: highlighting safety concerns and efficacy.

Upper gastrointestinal endoscopy (GIE) is essential for diagnosing and treating gastrointestinal disorders in children aged 6-12 years, yet it often requires sedation due to the significant discomfort and pain involved. We conducted a PRISMA 2020-compliant systematic review of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) from PubMed, Web of Science, Scopus, and Ovid (inception to March 30, 2024). Inclusion criteria are as follows: RCTs comparing sedative regimens (e.g., propofol, ketamine, remimazolam, dexmedetomidine) in children undergoing upper GIE. Exclusion criteria are as follows: non-RCTs, studi

Breastfeeding interventions for preventing postpartum depression.

BACKGROUND: Postpartum depression is a debilitating mental health disorder, which occurs in approximately 6% to 13% of women who give birth in high-income countries. It is a cause of great suffering for women and can have long-term consequences for child development. Postpartum depression can also negatively influence breastfeeding duration and breastfeeding exclusivity (i.e. feeding the infant only breast milk). However, a positive early, and continued, breastfeeding experience may reduce the risk of having postpartum depression. Breastfeeding interventions that increase the duration and excl
