AIM: To report early and late outcomes of laparoscopic colon pull-through leaving a short rectal sleeve for Hirschsprung disease.
METHODS: Laparoscopic endorectal colon pull-through was performed using 4 ports. The ganglionic and aganglionic segments were initially identified by seromuscular biopsies obtained laparoscopically. To determine the influence of microscopic disease at an anastomosis following intestinal resection for Crohn's disease, 97 patients undergoing 103 resections were reviewed. Most resections (85/103) involved both small and large bowel and were followed by an ileocolic anastomosis. All resection margins were available and were reviewed. BACKGROUND: While ileal pouch anal anastomosis (IPAA) is the recommended way to restore intestinal continuity after total proctocolectomy, straight ileoanal anastomoses (SIAA) are still selectively performed, especially in the pediatric population. In case of SIAA failure, conversion to IPAA is possible, but reports on its outcomes are scarce.

BACKGROUND: Redo surgery (RS) in patients with failed anastomosis is a rare procedure, and data about this surgery are lacking. The aim of this study was to examine the operative results and long-term outcomes of RS.
