AIM: To evaluate the effectiveness of shear-wave elastography (SWE) and strain elastography (SE) for axillary lymph nodes (ALNs).
MATERIALS AND METHODS: PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane Library databases were searched until September 2018. Weighted mean difference was calculated for continuous variables. The accuracy of sonoelastography was assessed by calculating pooled sensitivity, specificity, area under the curve (AUC), positive likelihood ratio (PLR), negative likelihood ratio (NLR), and diagnostic odds ratio (DOR). BACKGROUND: Pulmonary sarcoidosis predominantly affects the upper lung zones but sometimes affects the lower lung zones. We hypothesised that patients with lower lung zone-dominant sarcoidosis had lower baseline forced vital capacity, progressive restrictive lung function decline, and higher long-term mortality.
METHODS: We retrospectively reviewed clinical data including the pulmonary function tests of 108 consecutive patients with pulmonary sarcoidosis pathologically confirmed by lung and/or mediastinal lymph node biopsy from 2004 to 2014 from our database.

BACKGROUND: Sentinel node biopsy is an accurate method for staging the axilla in early (small) breast cancers. However, data for the role of this technique for large breast cancers remain limited.
METHOD: From the Royal Adelaide Hospital Sentinel Node database and the SNAC trial database, 100 subjects were identified with clinically node negative, large (≥3 cm) primary breast cancer who had undergone sentinel node biopsy and immediate axillary clearance. The pathology results from the sentinel node and axillary specimens were analysed.
RESULTS: Average tumour size was 3.91 cm (range 3-10 cm)
