Attitude, self-efficacy, and perceived risk toward seasonal influenza vaccination among primary care physicians in Qatar: A cross-sectional study.

Primary care physicians (PCPs) play a critical role in influencing vaccination decisions, both for their patients and for themselves. However, the success of vaccination programs often depends on the attitudes, perceived risks, and self-efficacy Of PCPs. A cross-sectional study examined influenza-related attitude, self-efficacy, and perceived risk among 190 primary health care physicians using an online survey, 46% of participants believed healthcare professionals do not pose influenza transmission risks to patients. Self-efficacy for vaccination was strongly tied to time availability (73.7% a

Generalizable and Slim Affordance Reasoning for Task-oriented Manipulation.

Object affordance reasoning, the ability to infer object functionalities based on physical properties, is fundamental for task-oriented planning and activities in both humans and Artificial Intelligence (AI). This capability, required for planning and executing daily activities in a task-oriented manner, relies on commonsense knowledge of object physics and functionalities, extending beyond simple object recognition. Current computational models for affordance reasoning from perception lack generalizability, limiting their applicability in novel scenarios. Meanwhile, comprehensive Large Langua

The positive perspective paradigm: proposal of a model to mitigate the impact of chronic inflammatory arthritis through comprehensive and early intervention.

Many people with chronic inflammatory arthritis (IA) experience significant disease impact, even with well-controlled disease activity. For rheumatoid arthritis (RA), 20% to 50% of patients in remission still report pain, disability, fatigue, or negative illness perceptions, leading to poorer long-term outcomes. However, evidence shows that long-term patient-reported outcomes improve when remission is achieved early, and that this is at least partly explained by a positive influence on psychological factors like illness perceptions. Based on these insights and a narrative literature review, we

Taxation of sugar-sweetened beverages: Perspectives of adults and nursing practitioners in Makhanda, Eastern Cape, South Africa.

BACKGROUND: High sugar-sweetened beverage (SSB) consumption has been linked to the rising prevalence of obesity and non-communicable diseases (NCDs) in South Africa. In April 2018, the country introduced an SSB tax-known as the Health Promotion Levy (HPL)-as a fiscal measure to reduce excessive sugar consumption and curb the rise of overweight, obesity, and NCDs. Although national evidence indicates product reformulation, community-level awareness and perceptions, particularly in low-socioeconomic settings, remain unclear. OBJECTIVES: To assess adults' awareness, beliefs, and self-reported be

Influence of prior alkalosis or acidosis on physiological responses during passive hyperthermia.

This study manipulated the blood pH of participants to be mildly acidic or basic prior to passive hyperthermia to examine its effects on thermoregulatory and chemo-regulatory responses, including ventilatory parameters, rectal temperature (Tre) and thermal perception. Twelve healthy males attended three experimental sessions in a double-blind, randomised, counterbalanced design. Passive hyperthermia was induced by hot water immersion at 40°C following the consumption of corn starch (placebo; PLA), ammonium chloride (AC) or sodium bicarbonate (SB). Compared with PLA, SB consumption increased bl

"A lot can happen in that time": understanding patients' perspectives on reduced surveillance frequency and the potential for circulating tumor DNA blood tests after colorectal cancer treatment.

PURPOSE: Individuals who have completed colorectal cancer (CRC) treatment are recommended regular radiological scans for 3-5 years to monitor for cancer recurrence. Since the frequency of radiological surveillance is generally reduced until it is no longer recommended, blood tests measuring circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) could supplement and/or replace radiological surveillance once scans are not recommended. To better understand patients' support needs throughout ongoing care after CRC treatment, this study explored perspectives on reduced scan frequency and the potential incorporation of ctDN

What factors influence the community's use of physiotherapy services as first-line management for temporomandibular disorders? A qualitative study using the COM-B framework.

BACKGROUND: Physiotherapists play a unique role within the multidisciplinary management team for temporomandibular disorders (TMDs). However, historically they have been under-recognised and under-utilised in the care of individuals with TMD. To improve TMD management pathways and facilitate uptake of subsequent physiotherapy services, it is important to understand factors which underpin care-seeking behaviours of individuals with TMD in the community. OBJECTIVES: To understand 1) what individuals with TMD perceive the role of physiotherapy to be in TMD management, 2) how these perceptions in

Exploring Haemodialysis Nurses' Perceptions on Kidney Replacement Therapy Modality Education: A Framework Analysis.

BACKGROUND: Many people with kidney failure start and remain on in-centre haemodialysis treatment despite evidence of improved outcomes with home dialysis. To make an informed modality decision patients must receive frequent, high-quality modality education. This education is inconsistent in the in-centre haemodialysis setting, where patients spend the most time with nurses while receiving haemodialysis treatments. OBJECTIVES: The aim of this study was to examine in-centre haemodialysis nurses' perceptions around modality education for patients receiving in-centre haemodialysis using the COM-
