Early anastomotic leakage (AL), usually defined as leakage within 30 post-operative days, represents a severe entity. However, mounting evidence has indicated that majorities of leakage occur within one week after surgery, making late AL rarity. Here we analyzed 101 consecutive colorectal AL, all of which occurred within 30 post-operative days, during Jan 2013 and Dec 2015 in cancer hospital of Fudan University. A retrospective review was performed of all women who had undergone operation for a tubal pregnancy at the Prince of Wales Hospital, Hong Kong, from November 1992 to March 1994. One hundred and five patients were included---61 were managed by laparoscopy and 44 by laparotomy. The efficacy of palliative biliary decompression by operative and percutaneous methods was evaluated in 106 patients with unresectable malignancies obstructing the biliary system. Seventy patients had operative and 36 had percutaneous decompression. Primary malignancies of the pancreas and bile ducts were most common.
