Spinal inhibition is significantly reduced after spinal cord injury (SCI) in humans. In this work, we examined if locomotor training can improve spinal inhibition exerted at a presynaptic level. OBJECTIVE: To detect whether myotatic reflex activation of masticatory muscles during drug-induced sleep endoscopy (DISE) can be an indirect marker for temporomandibular disorder (TMD) in patients suffering from obstructive sleep apnea (OSA).

Twenty members of a family with an autosomal dominant variety of a familial spastic paraplegia (FSP) underwent neurologic and electrodiagnostic examination. Torpid facial ulcerations may occur as a result of lesions involving the trigeminal fibers. These neurotrophic ulcerations have usually been observed after alcohol injection in the trigeminal ganglion. We report two cases associated with brainstem infarction. In both patients, the blink reflex was studied. The masseter inhibitory reflex was studied in one case. Analysis of these electrophysiological recordings can be of particular value in localizing the site of the lesion along the trigeminal pathway.
