A 49-year-old male was evaluated in our hospital for chronic cough, cervical lymphadenopathy, and a testicular mass. As a part of the management, he underwent a cervical lymph node biopsy, which showed metastatic deposits from papillary carcinoma thyroid. Subsequently, he underwent orchidectomy for suspected testicular malignancy, but the biopsy showed discrete granulomatous inflammation consistent with sarcoidosis. BACKGROUND: To report our institution's experience treating soft palate squamous cell carcinoma with radiotherapy alone or combined with adjuvant chemotherapy and/or neck dissection for residual disease.

PURPOSE: Atlantoxial fusion with screw rod constructs traditionally requires subperiostal dissection of the C1/C2 muscle attachments, which may lead to postoperative axial neck pain and intraoperative blood loss. We evaluate a potentially less invasive, muscle splitting approach for atlantoaxial fusion in a cadaver model.
METHODS: A technical feasibility study was performed in a human cadaveric specimen with standard surgical instruments and an operating microscope. Surgically relevant anatomical structures as well as final exposure of the C1, C1/C2 and C2 screw entry points are demonstrated.

The objective of this study is to report the long-term outcomes of primary radiotherapy (RT) for patients with T1-T2 squamous cell carcinomas (SCC) of the pyriform sinus. Between November 1964 and March 2008, 135 patients with T1-T2 pyriform sinus SCC were treated with primary RT at the University of Florida.
