PURPOSE: To characterize the magnetic resonance (MR) imaging features of patellar tendinitis.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: Fifteen patients with a clinical diagnosis of patellar tendinitis underwent gadolinium-enhanced MR imaging of the knee.

This paper reports the pathologic classification of 272 cases with primary epithelial lacrimal gland tumors in comparison with that of the salivary glands. The results were correlated with the histologic findings of resected specimens or intraoperative excision according to the new (1987) TNM classification. The senile cataracts have been graded on the basis of density objectively. The letter visual acuity, laser interferometric visual acuity and pin hole visual acuity were compared in various grades of cataracts and controls (phakic and aphakic) in 140 eyes. It was found that good correlation exists in all eyes except when cataract density is grade III or IV. The laser interferometry has good prognostic value when the predictability is assessed in early stages of cataract (Grade I & II).

The lateral region of the lumbar spinal canal is subject to pathologic alterations which encroach upon the neural structures located within. In order to further understanding and facilitate communication among specialists in diverse disciplines, a subdivision of the lateral region is proposed to comprise three zones: entrance zone, mid-zone and exit zone. The anatomical boundaries of these zones are defined and the pathologic conditions of each are described, and serve as the basis for techniques of surgical decompression when clinically required.
