BACKGROUND: Reduction mammoplasty is indicated for symptomatic macromastia or breast asymmetry after contralateral cancer surgery. Previous studies compared the incidence of high-risk lesions in resection specimens between these 2 groups. However, no studies have compared incidental findings in breast reduction specimens based on relative risk of cancer. Our study stratifies lesions by relative risk of malignant progression and compares the frequency of these findings in bilateral versus unilateral reduction mammoplasties.

Pheochromocytomas are rare neuroendocrine tumors, with published incidence of 2 to 8 cases per million patients per year. We report the case of a 60year-old man (with a grafted kidney), surgically treated in 2007 for a sclerodermiform basal cell carcinoma infiltrating the left nostril. Squamous cell carcinomas are often seen on the sun-exposed areas of the skin and are rarely observed on the digits of the foot. However, there have been incidences of squamous cell carcinoma developing in the presence of chronic wounds with osteomyelitis, thus complicating the treatment. We present a patient with osteomyelitis who developed invasive squamous cell carcinoma of the third digit. We conclude that wounds with osteomyelitis may have underlying pathologic abnormalities that are not obvious on initial presentation.

We report the case of a 76-year-old woman who presented with asymptomatic extensive erythematous. Firm plaques were noted over the right cheek.
