This article reviews our experience, as well as the medical literature, regarding the treatment of failure to thrive (FTT) on an outpatient basis. Nonorganic FTT can be accidental, neglectful, or deliberate. Accidental FTT occurs with errors in formula preparation, diet selection, or feeding technique. These errors can usually be corrected by education and demonstration. Deliberate underfeeding is rare, and these children usually require placement in foster care. Traumatic brain injury is an important cause of acquired brain injury. The current study brings to light the clinicoepidemiologic profile of pediatric traumatic brain injury in India. Retrospective record analysis of children (aged ≤ 16 years) with traumatic brain injury presenting to an apex-trauma-center in North India over 4 years was done. We report a case of intraconal grease gun injury along with traumatic optic neuropathy in a 20-year-old male. He presented with dimness of vision and proptosis of the left eye (LE) following an accidental injury at work place. The computer tomography of orbit revealed hypodense grease orbit. Cream colored grease was continually exuding from the conjunctival wound. Patient improved rapidly after the surgical removal of the grease by anterior orbitotomy.
