Solid-state NMR (SSNMR) (1)H T1 and T1ρ relaxation times were used to evaluate the miscibility of amorphous solid dispersions of nifedipine (NIF) and polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) prepared by three different methods: melt quenching in the typical lab setting, spray drying and melt quenching in the NMR rotor while spinning. OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study was to investigate the mechanisms of post-hyperventilation hypoxia.
METHODOLOGY: Seven healthy male volunteers, aged 29.1 +/- 1.4 years, underwent two 10-min periods of voluntary hyperventilation to pulmonary end tidal CO2 values of 20 mmHg (severe hyperventilation), or 30 mmHg (moderate hyperventilation). Post-hyperventilation, the arterial oxygen saturation, VE and arterial blood gas values were measured. Sleep was excluded by EEG monitoring.

The mast cell tumours were then degranulated with compound 48/80 (250 mug/ml in saline), and with a Sorption microcalorimeter, relatively strong exothermic reactions were measured, whereas normal skin showed only 1/10th the intensity.
