Examination of two sisters ages 2 years 10 months and 6 years four months with gyrate atrophy of the choroid and retina provided an opportunity for detailed clinical investigation. Although the chorioretinal lesions were confined to the peripheral retina in the older case and were quite minimal in the younger case, there was electroretinographic evidence of marked involvement of the cone and rod systems. These cases offer an opportunity to assess an arginine restricted diet in preventing the progress of the disease.

Abnormal localization of 99mTc pertechnetate was detected in the choroid plexus of patients with renal insufficiency despite the administration of potassium perchlorate. This was found in 8 of 21 studies on patients on conservative medical treatment, in 35 of 41 studies in patients on hemodialysis, in 12 of 22 studies in renal transplant recipients, and in 1 of 5 with acute renal insufficiency, but not in any of 33 persons free of renal disease. A case of supratentorial intracerebral cyst, containing ectopic plexus, is discussed. The cyst had no communication with the ventricular system or subarachnoid space. The cyst wall was lined in part by flattened or cuboidal epithelium and in part by glia. Fronds of choroid plexus protruded into the cavity of the cyst in one part. The preoperative and postoperative computerized tomography scans are presented and the operative findings are discussed. The management of such cases is reviewed.

The authors describe and discuss a case of malignant choroid plexus papilloma originating in the lateral ventricle of an 11-month-old child. Unusual features include a long survival time of 9 years and the presence of an extraneural malignant deposit, probably metastatic in origin.

A very rare case of the choroid plexus carcinoma of the left lateral ventricle with metastasis to bone was reported. A two-month-old baby was suffering from irritability and vomiting. Her vital signs became progressively worse. On admission she showed an increased head circumference and meningeal irritation signs. Thirteen patients who were referred to the Oncology Unit with the diagnosis of metastatic cancer to the choroid were studied and found to have other conditions. All of the patients were female. Nine of the 13 had a history of systemic cancer of which 6 were breast cancer. Five patients were currently being treated with chemotherapeutic agents for their systemic cancer.
